Going to Vegas in December for my 21st (yes I know, I'm only a nipper ).

Just wondering if theres anything boxing related worth doing/seeing/going to. Haven't really looked into it and figured you lot are the best to ask.

Not been for a long time but i'm sure there are gyms that may let you in for a look,i went years ago and managed to get inside of Johhny Tocco's gym and watched Boza Edwards train for a while.

You can go mayweather gym for a fee.... It's in Chinatown (may as well get a rub and a tug whilst there )

None boxing:-

Blondies - all you can drink $20 ($10 a beer inc tip 99% of places )

Stay at NYNY - best for Brits as a few decent bars

Use monorails as taxis are rip off

Stay off the mdma caps

All extremely sound advice bar the BlackJack ( which is great of course ). Baccarat has the best odds I believe and for sheer fun, nothing beats roulette ( never played craps but that looks a good craic ) imo
Gamble downtown ( Freemont street, which is a good night out by the way ) as the limits are lower ( on the strip its $10 minimum at tables, and more on weekends ) and if playing BlackJack the odds are better.

Boxing? Keep your eyes on the sports shops in the casinos. They'll be advertising autograph sessions with famous boxers. When I was there over christmas I met Tyson ( costs dough though, but he was pretty chatty ) and he was appearing at virtually every sports shop on the strip throughout December.

Where are you staying? New York New York is a good shout. I've done Luxor, MGM and The Mirage. I wouldn't recommend the Luxor but its only a room at the end of the day! You won't be spending too much time in it

Went for my annual trip in March and was a bit disappointed in Vegas, maybe I've gone too many times or its changing.

Prices are going through the roof, beer in casinos is around $8 plus tip, rooms have gone up etc. More now for me about eating and shopping. Clubs etc is all about booths, min spend etc rather than having a laugh like it used to be.

We always start and end in a bar called the Stagedoor behind Cromwells casino on Flamingo drive. $2 corona and $1 for PBR. Open 24 hours a day so we always knew where to end up if you got lost. If its a slow night hookers are all in there, down on their luck practically giving it away (so I'm been told your honour).

Downtown Vegas has undergone a bit of a resurgence so nice restaurants, speakeasy joints and the like, well worth a night. I love going to El Cortez casino and spending a day gambling - its a very nice casino, low minimums and they have beer on ice behind the cropier so as soon as you place your bet you get a beer. So you're getting paid in effect to gamble! $3 hand in blackjack you get an $8 beer!!!

Shoot some guns, drive some fast cars, see a show or two. Try and walk the strip. If its your first time, you'll have a blast as its all new.

The same company owns most of the memorabilia shops so Tyson and a few others like Dick Butkas (sorry for the spelling) do the rounds, expensive to buy and get something signed but then again its Mike Tyson! When will you get the chance to meet him.

Always intrigues me about Vegas is that you're in the capital of gambling but try and get an inlay bet on I dare you! Try and pick a round for a fight! Even the William Hill bookies there don't offer any of the services we take for granted. Yanks are amazed when we tell them what we can gamble on - fornicate me if we wanted a bet on two flies climbing the wall we'd get odds from somewhere. Americans are very limited in what they can bet on. Generally win/loose.

Mgm shop near reception were selling tmt gear last time I was there. His belts were also in the lobby but home now. I go every year and can't get over how expensive it has gone. Mayweather gym is a half hour walk from strip. Worth a visit

Yip it's crazy. Did tweet William Hill to ask why but they never got back to me.

Last few years stayed at the mirage but next time we'll go somewhere else as I felt the cost of staying at the mirage has gone up while the guest experience has gone down.

Stayed at MGM (best I've stayed in), Montle Carlo, Mandalay Bay and Trump.

Probably go to Aria or Cosmo next time. Think we're going to do a night at Red Rock - amazing hotel, well worth a visit, so relaxed - makes me wonder if the noise is pipped in on the strip, then a night downtown before going up the strip for Thursday - Sunday.

16 nights? fornicate me that's hardcore. We'd do Wednesday to Sunday then it went to Tuesday now it's Monday! But we normally go somewhere for two nights first then drive in.

Just latching on to this, I've been twice and in the casino's I have never paid for a drink, but that's because I do like sitting at the tables to be fair...if you are gambling, they will bring you drink's all the time...

Also 'Twin peaks' is a lovely place for an afternoon beer
