I'm currently watching a Sky documentary 'Froch and M'Craken Back in the ring'

He has his new beak but - is it a build up to something?

Even with big fights out there for him if he came back, I just think and hope he'll stay retired.

I look at how Ricky Hatton's comeback fight turned out, yes it had a nostalgic feel to it and there was a few moments when he looked able but by the end of it, it was obvious that he should have stayed retired and I'd hate to see Froch come back and go out in the same way.

A slugger who relies on fitness, toughness and chin needs momentum to succeed.

He's retired, lost all momentum. He'd be a sitting duck if he came back and take bad beatings.

If he came back it'd be like watching the unsuccessful late career challenges of Matthew Saad Muhammad or Danny Lopez (fellow, upright and easily hittable gladiators).

What I would say though is he still has a small fire to box imo but he only seems to let himself be tempted before getting real again. He said he wouldn't do 168 previously so you'd assume a fight would be at 175. This almost completely eliminates GGG.

Ward, very very unlikely. Froch didn't exactly chase ward after his defeat. Mentioned his name after he thumped Bute but he didn't exactly hound out a rematch. Doubtful he'd do it now after he's been retired.

Degale, said he wasn't motivated to fight him when he was champ post groves fight. Can't see that changing

Kessler, the only small percent that may be possible. Still can't see it.

He's a good pundit Froch imo, but when talking super middleweights, the fighters arrogance comes back. He doesn't talk like this for fighters of other weights, except golovkin, though ggg was a muted opponent so the theory still fits. This to me suggests he still has small desire to fight, but realistically I doubt it

He doesn't need the money so if he did come back at least it would be for the right reasons. He looks as if he still keeps himself in great shape. If he started training and sparring and didn't look up to it I'm sure McCracken wouldn't be slow in telling him.

As far as opponents go there's some exciting fights there. DeGale, Kessler at 168. GGG if he wants to step up. Even Jack at light heavy would be a good fight. I'd stay away from Kov and nobody wants to see the Ward fight again.

Ward was ringside in the UK for one of Froch's fights and was asking for the rematch and Froch didn't do it. Froch has also spoken very frankly about how good a boxer Ward is, and accurately stated he would probably loose again. Plus Does Ward get anyone excited?

I can't see it. Kessler retired after Froch beat him 4 years ago. Groves calling him out would be kinda fun. That first fight was great. Froch's also talked about "if" coming back would be at light heavy so no way would GGG match get done. Kovalev would be fun, but can see Froch ending career on the canvas on that one. IMHO Froch likes to talk about coming back for the craic of it and to stay in touch. I think he has too much sense to actually step back into the ring.

Ward came over for Kessler II. Froch offered to fight him in Nottingham then and on other occasions, Ward wouldn't take it. Virgil Hunter claimed Froch was getting the beating of his life but they wouldn't commit.
Probably would have been the same result but it would have been interesting to see it, you never know what could have happened in a the hostile atmosphere it would have produced.

Next month that'll be three years since he last fought so I doubt it. He doesn't need the money and has nothing to prove. Maybe he feels he has unfinished business with Kessler and he admitted himself Kessler coming back gave him something to think about. Is Kessler coming back enough to get Froch back in to the ring? I don't think so. I miss him but I hope he stays retired.
