He could beat Pac at this point I figure. I don't think he'd beat Crawford. I'd love to see either fight though.

He's a really really good fighter imo, but these are tough fights.

No doubt about it. Now is the time to go for a guy like Pac though. He's still seen as one of the top guys at Welterweight (deservedly so), but at his age and with his style being so reliant on his speed and athleticism. His days as an elite fighter are numbered, but beating him would still be a HUGE career boost for anybody trying to get himself into superstar status.

Pacquiao would likely perform better at 140 than at 147 in terms of speed and athleticism.

Maybe. Knowing Pac though. With Mikey having never competed above 135 pounds before, he'd insist that a fight with Crawford be at 147 or at least 144 or something. Him and Freddie always try to get an edge somehow like that.

The Mikey fight is being ripped from Lomachenko, who called Mikey out after he stopped Sosa... Do the Loma fight first... Then go fight Pac and Crawford

You already said you would fight Lomachenko, who's never fought at 135.

Lomachenko still has plenty of business to handle at 130, and there are plenty of other meaningful opponents awaiting him at 135 when the time comes for him to move up.

No need to rush Lomachenko up through the weight classes or else everything that dazzles us and makes him so much fun to watch will be lost as eventually the size issue will be too much to overcome. Regardless of talent.

Roman Gonzalez's difficulties at 115 is a sure sign that everyone has their limits when it comes to size.

Gonzalez is lacking a few skills.. A truly outstanding jab is one of them.. and he does get tagged up.. Lomachenko has no such problems but there's really nobody out there to fight him at 130.. Salido refuses to fight him and so do the other champions at 130.. It's the same story as 126, where Santa Cruz, Selby, Cuellar, and Mares refused to face him -- and now they're refusing to fight Gary Russell because he was the guy who agreed to fight Lomachenko -- and if Russell knocked them all out it would make Lomachenko look good.

There are guys at 130 who are willing to face Lomachenko I'm sure. There are no shortage of worthwhile contenders at that weight class whether they have a belt or not.

Besides, if people ducking him has been a problem at 126 and 130 as you say. Why wouldn't it continue to be a problem at 135?

Also I must say it seems a bit ridiculous for a guy with a resume that consists of only 9 professional fights, 5 of which are are well known name fighters, it seems a bit ridiculous to say he's being ducked at all.

Most fighters haven't fought 5 name guys after 3 times as many fights.

I love both these fights! I'd take him over Manny. I think he is better technically than Crawford. But, the size may pose big problems for Mikey there.

I think extremely high of Garcia's ability. IMO, he's the second best boxer in the world just behind Lomachenko. But who knows, he may even beat Loma.

The size advantage he'd enjoy over Loma certainly ain't hurting his chances if that ever goes down.

The reason he wouldn't be ducked as much at 135 is, as you move up in weight it's much harder to win fights as you give up size... The more he moves up in weight somebody is bound to fight him... They want to knock him off because he's the best P4P fighter in the world.

Why would he be ducked with 9 professional fights???

Cuz with 2 professional fights, undefeated top Featherweight Gary Russell DIDN'T duck him... Russell was taken to the cleaners... Now Russell is the once beaten (in 28 fights) Featherweight Champion of the World and he can't get the other top Featherweights to face him to save his life... When Lomachenko had 7 professional fights undefeated Nicholas Walters DIDN'T duck him... At least he didn't duck him for any longer than 15 months.. But now the once beaten (in 28 fights) Axe Man is probably going to be on the outside looking in as far as getting other top 130-pounders to fight him.. Who's going to want to fight him and get their ass torn up by the guy who quit to Lomachenko???

So I think it's imperative that Lomachenko get the Garcia fight.. Once he builds an overwhelming reputation as the world’s best boxer, people won’t duck him as much.. Just for the money they’ll be fighting him.. Nowadays you can sit in one division forever and remain undefeated with nobody wanting to fight you.. Look at Luis Oritz.. He’s been trying to get a World Title Fight for years and time is running out on him because he’s 38. However, apparently he hasn’t slowed enough and he’s still dangerous.

True. Both of their technical abilities are similarly elite. And while Mikey would enjoy a size and power advantage, Loma would be enjoying a speed advantage. It's a dream fight for me. I feel Loma would win via close decision, but would be rooting for Garcia all the way. Mikey is my favorite fighter at the moment.

I'll be honest... your points make a hell of a lot of sense to me. Russell and Walters are killers in their own right. Lucky for Russell he got another title shot shortly after the Loma loss. But, I can see your points.

I've got Mikey beating Pac in the near future and even tho he would be underdog vs Crawford, I think he would be one of the few fighters in that weight range (135-140) that can give Terence some serious competition and testing. Two of my favorite fighters & a potential classic!! :box:

Mikey wanting to fight Pacquiao is like wanting to crawl into a people-sized blender and setting it to puree. But of course, anyone who would lose to Pacquiao wants to fight him anyway, because you get paid tremendously. Although I enjoy smoothies, the boxing fan in me would prefer to see Garcia fight Rances Barthelemy.

So you're saying Garcia has no chance against Pac...even at 140? Beg to differ. IMO the mere fact that Pac is stepping down in class to face the likes of Jeff Horn shows he is already slipping at age 38.

I agree Garcia would be in WAY over his head at 147 vs Pac. But at 140 I think he gives Pac major problems.

I'll go so far as to say Garcia is a better version of Marquez. I feel Garcia would give any version of Pacquiao fits. Garcia is technically sound at the highest level.

I'm really impressed how well Mikey has done after the long layoff. He made Zlaticanin look like a club fighter and that guy is no scrub. After a 30-month layoff before the Rojas fight last July it's hard to believe Garcia is still only 29!! He has improved stylistically and still has room to develop even more. I see him as a potential 3-4 weight champion!!

Better than Juan Manuel Marquez??? Are you sure he's not better than Sugar Ray Robinson also?

Mikey is so technically sound that suggesting that he prove his technical soundness is clear evidence that you watch something other than Faux News.
