Is it likely to be watchable tho ? Not on faceache myself but heard the Bellew / Haye fight had a good stream on there . How comes they are not taken down ?

It's supply and demand. They could quite easily have charged £25 and they would not have lost any potential buys . It's the way TV is going, that's why BT and ITV are looking very closely at the whole thing. All those companies need is a new 'superstar' and the PPV will kick-in.
I can't wait until the whole system collapses. Live streaming may well be the death knell, but whenever, through desperation, they suddenly charge a PPV for a huge football match, we'll all know the end is in sight. The company (Sky) who take the leap and charge PPV for that match , will crumble and burn virtually overnight.

As streaming technology gets better something will have to change, but that could just as easily be technology designed at blocking it. For the sake of a few quid I prefer the reassurance of having it on tv than trying to find a stream to watch.

I can afford twenty notes for next Saturday's boxing and I like the fact that once I've paid the twenty got it in HD.
But, as soon as the streaming is 100% reliable - its goodbye ppv from me !!.

I'd happily pay an extra 15 a month and patch Sky Sports. The casuals who want to buy specific fights should still be given the option of PPV.

SKY are breaking up SKY Sports as we know it and will be relaunching with dedicated channels for their most popular sports. The new channels will be themed as follows: SKY Sports Premiership, SKY Sports Football, SKY Sports Golf, SKY Sports Cricket, SKY Sports F1, SKY Sports Variety 1 and SKY Sports Variety 2. SKY have also just taken a controlling stake of At The Races which will be rebranded in the summer to SKY Sports Racing.

Boxing will be on one of the SKY Sports Variety channels along with the likes of Rugby, Tennis, Darts, NFL and WWE. This is good news if you're a boxing fan who often complains that you don't watch football, and don't like subsidising the astronomical cost of football rights, as you'll be able to subscribe to just the sports channels you want to watch. If you're just taking the one channel it'll be around £18.00 (or less) and will be in HD, so no additional HD charge. If you're currently watching SKY Sports mainly for boxing you'll no longer have to pay £27.50 per month plus an additional £6.00 for HD. You'll be able to continue watching boxing on SKY, and buy all the PPV events, for a fraction of what you currently pay annually.

Please God be true that sounds grand, I like football but for the price Sky charge I could take or leave it, I only get it for the boxing

De-linking football from everything else is a good-seeming idea to me. If they do that I would seriously consider getting sky sports for boxing cricket and rugby

They already do something similar in Germany. The full SKY Sports package is roughly £29.00 per month. If you just want to watch German football you can subscribe to Sky Sports Bundesliga for £18.00 per month. If you don't want to watch the Bundesliga then you can subscribe to the rest of the SKY Sports channels instead for £18.00.

The prices and concept of how SKY run things in Germany sound very similar to what they plan to launch here in the summer. As I posted above I might not be totally spot on with how things will look in the summer. My understanding is you can add any SKY Sports branded channel for £18.00 per month however it could very well be that SKY Sports Premiership and SKY Sports Football are in a bundle costing £18.00 and the other channels like SKY Sports Golf, SKY Sports F1, SKY Sports Variety etc... are in another bundle for £18.00. You'll still be able to subscribe to the overall SKY Sports package for around £30.00 however now you'll have additional choice.

Get a VPN address, subsceibe to Viaplay.no "fighting" and get all the boxing from Matchroom, BT, Al Haymon, showtime and Sauerland incl PPV and all UFC for 18 quid a month

My mate's pub has it on, it's the first PPV he's done. I'm gonna watch it there, seems like an option to me. He told me the fee is £250, that doesn't seem that high for a pub? I thought it was more than that.

I watch the stuff of mild interest via streams, lately that Readyz facebook ones seems to be decent although I have not wired up the macbook to be able to watch it on my big screen so watch it on my lap. They are quite reliable and do not often drop but as it is not a big fight, I do not mind losing it for a minute here and there. But for this fight which is a big one, I will stump up the £20 and put it on the big screen, HD and complete reliability. Get a couple mates round and a decent evening.

When you look at it like that you're better off at home man. If I went to boozer I'd be 60/70 quid easy and that's not counting nose candy. If I'm on that then it's a further 40/80 quid! I can't go listening to casual wankers in pubs. It irritates the fukk out me.

In the house you're 20 bucks for the fight and a tenner in beer from Morrisons or something Can't go wrong. They're my favourite nights.

I have all my kids this weekend anyway so I don't have the option
