A bit rounded with a little stubble but no dimple - apologies!Rexob wrote:What's his chin like? He is the real deal, seen him closer than most in the gym & his corner, power is superb but the shot selection & accuracy are just as good as is his timing, add to that the fact that he is super professional.
I liked the look of him tbh though early days yet. The Pele Reid comparison is horrible though lol.
Re: Anthony Yarde
Didnt Pele ko Vit Klit in K1? Different game obviously

Anthony 'Junk' Yarde 'Dog'
Has a double nickname been seen before?

First time I've seen him on the weekend and he looks very useful.
The opponent was a terrible choice though, and he should be fighting at a higher level on his 10th fight. It seemed a bit pointless and the other guy looked to have a broken rib for his troubles.
Enjoyed the Drago-like training montage.

Isn't Yarde featured between breaks on Sky now? Between rounds? Oh the irony

Yes that's him.horndawg80 wrote:Isn't Yarde featured between breaks on Sky now? Between rounds? Oh the irony
Re: Anthony Yarde
I'll be honest I have been on the Yarde hype train for a few fights.
I try not to big up prospects too much early on but I do like the look of Yarde.
He doesn't just have a basic style purely throwing straight punches. He does work off a jab and varies his shots. His body punching looks just as lethal as his head shots.
As for his development light heavies peak later.
Look at Oleksandr Gvozyk who is approaching or at world class now. High amateur experience and he is 30.
Kovalev was 30 when he fought Clev and he was a decent amateur as well.
The questions are does he have a chin /defense ? Can he go the rounds ?
If the answers to those are yes I think he can go far.

It's a small shame if he does come good and the current elite are on their way out. I honestly thought he'd be rushed a lot more, sometimes you get the impression that southern area titles are below some people, but I'm intrigued to how he gets on the rest of the year. I'm expecting English title. Shinkwin could be canny opponent.

allegedly is still by far the best promoter in the business when it comes to developing Young fighters/prospects. Jason Mcclory is also an excellant match maker.
With BT backing him also If Yarde is good enough this kid is going places.

Re: Anthony Yarde
You mean developing fighters in the ring mate? Cause I'd argue Hearn is most definitely better at developing fighters into stars outside of the ring. A lot more proof of Warren's catalog of success though, so...Manchester Hitman wrote:allegedly is still by far the best promoter in the business when it comes to developing Young fighters/prospects. Re: Anthony Yarde
They definitely are developing a decent stable of fighters who could all be knocking on the world championship door in the next few years. Yarde, Dubois, Woodstock, all on the last card alone! Between BN and Matchroom, I think British boxing could well be a force to reckon with over the next 5-10 years. Exciting times. Let's just hope these promoters can make the fights we need, happen!Manchester Hitman wrote:allegedly is still by far the best promoter in the business when it comes to developing Young fighters/prospects. There's always another group coming along, Ginge.TheGingerBomber wrote:It's a small shame if he does come good and the current elite are on their way out.
In the 175 range we have....
Joe Smith Jnr - 27 - 23(19)-1 & possibly the hottest light heavy around. By the way, when is his next fight? Been six months since the Hopkins KO.
Marcus Browne - 26 - 19(14)-0. New York rival of Smith (SMITH V BROWNE - Old School Banner
Dmitry Bivol - 26 - 10(8)-0. Looks the part so far.
Umar Salamov - 22 - 18(13)-0. Was supposed to fight on Parker Fury undercard.
At 168 there's Ramirez, Eubank Jnr and Jesse Hart who might move up, especially Ramirez & Hart who are big at the weight.
And at Cruiser (in case Yarde moves up) there's Murat Gassiev, who at 23 is 24(17)-0 & just won the IBF plus a bunch of hungry young prospects including American Andrew Tabiti who is 14(12)-0 aged 27.
There'll be plenty of great fights out there for him - if he's up to the grade himself.

Bang goes the possibility of 'Mardy' Anthony Yarde then...frankgreaves wrote:It's Yard.
