He can't be serious. He should know that Jr is nowhere near Mayweather or even Lara skill wise. I think Julio's best chance is exactly opposite -- pressure and trying to land bombs.
Nacho wants JCCJ fight like Lara and Mayweather -- LOL

You might be right, providing JCC can keep his strength. There are signs that the Canelo camp are starting to regret their decision to use JCC as a warm up for GGG.boxing_rocks wrote:http://www.badlefthook.com/2017/4/24/15 ... not-weight

Trouble is that, pressure and landing bombs, is also Canelo's strength. In any combat, in any sport, you normally do better aiming at your opponents weaknesses. Everyone has at least one, even if you need to be Sherlock Holmes to find it.
If your strength matches their weakness...tactically its it's a no brainer. No walkover for Canelo either way.

Canelo is better than Chavez in almost everything. His only weakness compared to Chavez seems to be his size.

I think that this is taken out of context quite a bit. Nacho is talking about how Lara and Floyd fought Canelo from a certain distance that made him look foolish and clumsy and he's exactly right. It doesn't mean that he's asking Julio to fight "like" those two fighters but just at a similar distance that takes away Canelo's major tools and comfort level.
It's actually very bright and logical.

To fight like that, you need a great jab, footwork and evasiveness which Chavez doesn't have.caldo2025 wrote:I think that this is taken out of context quite a bit. I agree. Nacho can say all that he wants but when JR gets in the ring, everything goes out the window. I was just saying to someone that this fight reminds me of Cotto/Margarito 1. Not that it will be marred by illegal wraps but I see the fight resembling that one closely. I can see Canelo landing some great combo's early in the fight and winning most of the early rounds with a charging forward JCCJR never retreating. Late in the fight, JCCJR will catch up to Canelo and he'll be gassed from throwing so many punches that he's going to have to gut this one out late to hear the last bell. It's going to be a war. Absolutely war. Just like that Cotto/Margarito fight was.boxing_rocks wrote:To fight like that, you need a great jab, footwork and evasiveness which Chavez doesn't have.caldo2025 wrote:I think that this is taken out of context quite a bit. I think you are talking about pre-Fonfara Chavez, Chavez from the Martinez fight. A boxer who quit once will quit again.caldo2025 wrote:I agree. Nah, he was outgunned and outmanned in that fight with Fonfara. But i will also say that JCCSR predicted that his Son would lose that fight and that it was a horrible decision fighting up at that weight. Whatever SR predicts reading his son has come true and he liked his sons odds in this one. Mexico is on the line in this one. No one is quitting their way out of it.boxing_rocks wrote:I think you are talking about pre-Fonfara Chavez, Chavez from the Martinez fight.
