Porter is so relentless.

He's crude & one dimensional at times, but he doesn't let up at all.

He must be every WW's nightmare.

Fighers like him usually burn out pretty quickly, but he still looks like a top fighter.

Porter is starting to cut up around the eyes as well. Usually that doesn't bode well when a fighter gets older.

His corner closes them up with a lot of mastery.. He may have to have plastic surgery but that won't stop him.. He'll be around for a while.. I'd love to see him fight Pacquiao or Khan because he'd kill them.. I know he won't get those fights..

Porter the modern day Henry Armstrong.

It got a laugh, but I see both sides. Porter did remind me of the Armstrong clips I've watched.

His style very much resembles Armstrong. Difficult to watch because he's a crude in your chest dirty fighter. I actually think Porter is more athletic than Armstrong was though. I personally think Armstrong is overrated as far as history goes, that's just my opinion.

While not exactly pretty, Porter is one of the few fighters today who knows how to keep from getting held. If one guy tries to grab as Berto was doing you have every right to fight your way out of the clinch. Would you rather have simply watched half of every round simply being a grab and dance contest?

The only reason Berto is tying up is because of Porter's bull rush style. If it was a regular boxing match, it would be a whole different ballgame. Porter is not a great boxer. He excels with bull rushing and wrestling his opponents, along with the headbutts that come with it. Porter initiated the clinches, not Berto. Watch the fight again, and count how many times Berto came forward and initiated a clinch.

Of course Berto didn't move forward and initiate a clinch because he knew he would get mugged. When a fighter constantly attacks and you can't keep him off with punches, you have to clinch to survive. Porter wanted a close in fight and clearly got what he wanted because Berto couldn't impose his style. You may not like it and you can roll your eyes all you want, but Porter getting close and then fighting off the clinch is not illegal and clearly worked. I guess you've never heard of Joe Frazier or Henry Armstrong? While they were much more skilled than Porter, they also were known for putting their heads in their opponents chest and then fighting off clinches.

Porter controlled the ring, and imposed his style on Berto. And you probably failed to notice the effective jab that Porter used in many of the rounds as he moved forward.

Just because you you don't like how he fights, that doesn't invalidate his performance.

Yeah Porters style isn't for everyone

But that doesn't mean it isn't effective

I think Porter uses the skills and attributes he has very well, good pressure fighter

The Pacqiuao of about 2008 versus Porter would have been a fight for the ages.
