For The Boring Stattos.

Post by Taansend »

In case you were wondering

Here is a list of the points gap between the 1st & 2nd ranked boxers on Boxrecs UK ratings. I've added more when it's close or there's several over 100 points.

Heavyweight - Joshua 300. Whyte 92.
Cruiserweight - Bellew 400. Askin 84.
Light Heavy - Clevely 263. Ajisafe 67.
Supermiddle - Groves 285. Degale 258. Eubank 250. C Smith 237. Brophy 88.
Middle - Saunders 195. Murray 176. Arnfield 90.
Lightmiddle - L Smith 186. Williams 74.
Welter - Khan 416. Brook 351. Eggington 220. Skeete 115.
Lightwelter - Burns 127. Catterall 119. Davies 118.
Light - Flanagan 331. Campbell 196. Crolla 140.
Superfeather - Walsh 115. Smith 110. Ward 92.
Feather - Frampton 548. Quigg 330. Selby 310. Warrington 214. Walsh 65. Galahad 60.
Superbantam - Butler 83. McDonnell 76.
Bantam - McDonnell 303. Haskins 226. Hall 111. Burnett 82.
Superfly Guy - Yafai 307. Edwards 53.
Fly - Selby 85. Harris 37.
Lightfly - Din 21 (only fighter ranked :yay: )
Straw - X

As is often the case, there is no point to this thread :OhYes:

A few surprising ones:
Groves ahead of Degale, despite Degale being World Champ and unbeaten in 6 years.
Khan ahead of Brook, despite Khan only winning one fight in over 2 years.
Campbell ahead of Crolla.
Whyte so low in the rankings / points.
The difference between Liam Smith and Liam Williams.

Just shows how difficult it is to score and rank fighters.

I can understand Khan being ahead of Brook simply because he's consistently fought at a higher level.

Not sure how Groves is above DeGale though, presumably the Froch fights counted for loads.

Groves beat Murray less than a year ago, which gave him a good points boost. Degale drew with Badou Jack, which reduced his points.

I didn't mean this thread as a dig at Boxrec. I was just look at possible future opponents for Anthony Yarde & noticed the huge gap between 1 & 2 in both the Light Heavy & Cruiser divisions.

After that I couldn't help myself
