What he achieved in the ring is phenomenal for his size and experience. He was simply a street fighter who jumped straight into pro boxing and took his division by storm. One of my all time favourites.
Joe Frazier fought as small as he could, I believe he was about same height as Tyson, and whilst he probably fought guys not much taller than him, your Ali's & Foreman's towered above him. Even Buster Mathis. I'll admit he's not necessarily small in that time but he had to end up fighting big guys. Loved his style.
I was about to write Naz but I think rather than being short he was just someone who listed his genuine height. The Americans are always ones who love to add an inch or two to their height. Look at the face offs between Naz and Kevin Kelley and tell me Kelley is 3 inches taller, is he fornicate. Scott Quigg is another with incorrect height listed and I think Andre Ward and Dirrell both had an inch or two added as well.
Gavin Rees was an incredibly short fighter who managed to make it work for him up to a level.

Yeah, some of the Americans might have done that... but Hamed looked much smaller than some of his other opponents - like Steve Robinson. Five foot 3 is small for a 9 stone boxer.
Good call with Gavin Rees and I agree about Ward - he looks a small Light Heavy for me (and is wasting his talent fighting at above his natural weight). He looked smaller than Froch.

i agree on hamed, he was very small for the weight. he never looked like he was having to rip weight off to make the weight .i reckon he could easily have fought much lighter but fought higher weight than his true division for a better chance at making more money.
the only advantage i ever found being short when sparring was my arse didn't have as far to go as most blokes every time i got put on it
