He did well doing both well. He finished Whyte with a right uppercut from the inside as he was attacking hard. He nailed Whyte with a lot of hard counter-shots that softened him up for the first 6 rounds. Particularly the right hand counter. The Villain was pretty much ready to dispatch at that point.Ricky_ wrote:Is he? You have to eat that much if you work out that hard... You're burning 5000 calories a day so you have to eat more...Cutman Scabbers wrote:Wales wrote:So many questions going into this fight

People always ask if Joshua can go 12 rounds... If you're skilled and conditioned professional boxer, 12 rounds isn't tedious.. 15 rounds isn't tedious.. That's not the problem.. Getting hit a lot is tedious.. If he can box 8 sparring partners 15 rounds in the gym he can do it when the need arises.. Because he's hitting with 8 to 10 ounces of hand wraps and 32 ounces of gloves in the gym.. Sparring gloves weigh you down more than your gloves will ever burden you during a fight, and you're using a lot more tape and wrappings than the fight.. And you're always facing a fresh opponent and doing more than sparring. You're working harder. You've already worked out for an hour before you start sparring.
The idea isn't how many rounds you can go. It's how well you can box. How much you get hit versus the number of times your opponent is getting hit. How big, tall, long, strong, fast, skilled, and conditioned you are in comparison to your opponent. The pressure and the hits break you down no matter what your conditioning and strength are.
It's a very tough job to break down a very big, tall, very skilled Heavyweight and stop him in only 12 rounds.. Your opponent had a million dollar training camp with X number of sparring partners to prevent you from breaking him down.. So the much easier path to victory would be to just outbox Wlad for 12 and just cruise to victory like Tyson Fury did.. He's an old man.. You can easily outbox him because your younger and faster. Having that 100% KO ratio is a burden in a way.. You're not going to keep that KO record forever anyway -- because nobody ever does.
That's a myth, as far as I know it's not even closeCutman Scabbers wrote:Kalan wrote:You have to eat that much if you work out that hard... You're burning 5000 calories a day so you have to eat more...Cutman Scabbers wrote:

Joshua is a light eater compared to Michael Phelps:

Dillian Whyte buzzed Joshua I think Wlad can do the same...Joshua is slower than Fury so Wlad might not be caused as many problems but!!! Joshua's power cannot be over looked I think Wlad on pointsWales wrote:So many questions going into this fight

How is Wlad at 41? And are we overlooking a clear decline in Wlad? 2 fights in 2 years, 1 uninspiring win against a pre-fight perceived no-hoper in Jennings, followed by a defeat against Tyson Fury - a 4/1 underdog and only 4% of posters picked him to win by pts...
I think it is fair to say that Joshua will not be approaching the Wlad fight like he approached the Whyte fight. The opening 1-3 rounds were nothing more than a brawl. Almost no boxing technique involved. Against Wlad, you can expect that the opening rounds will be extremely cagey and both fighters will be trying to get behind some good boxing.Fyodor Jung wrote:Dillian Whyte buzzed Joshua I think Wlad can do the same...Joshua is slower than Fury so Wlad might not be caused as many problems but!!! Truly?
Not bad for a boxer who, according to Teddy Atlas, has "no chin, no skills and no cahones".Wladimir Klitschko net worth: $60 Million
Joshua is not slower than Fury... Fury has many more rounds and is more experienced than Joshua... but if you've ever seen Fury sprint or try to do anything athletic you would know he suffers from a lack of speed and athleticism.. Joshua won Super Stars against other top athletes and Fury would finish dead last in that competition.. Fury is a natural boxer and Klitschko wasn't.. Fury sees everything coming and doesn't get hit cleanly very often..Fyodor Jung wrote:Dillian Whyte buzzed Joshua I think Wlad can do the same...Joshua is slower than Fury so Wlad might not be caused as many problems but!!! Good post.Evander wrote:There are a number of questions surrounding this fight.
Klitschko's jab is a very important weapon and how he manages the distance.
Joshua's maturity level, what happens if Joshua falls behind, gets cut or starts eating right handers is he going to abandon his whole game plan.
It could well go off very early who knows but for some reason if Klitschko makes it down the stretch and the fight is even leads me to believe he's well equipped due to his experience.
Power wise both fighters are more than capable of taking the other out.
I'm looking forward to hopefully a good bout, it's warming up nicely.

I'm going to watch my team play last game of the season (Portslade Athletic), then pub with the lads, whilst watching Brighton clinch the Championship (I live in Brighton), then few beers in town with all the commotion, then back to mine around 9 for a bit of the card, wife putting out a spread, and having a full house!
