AJ v Klitschko - Officials

Post by Stuffs »

With every single other aspect getting it's own thread, why not this too.

Referee: David Fields (USA)

Judges: Steve Weisfeld (USA)
Don Trella (USA)
Nelson Vazquez (Puerto Rico)

Can't say I really pay that much attention to the names usually, so enlighten me. How sh*tty are the officials?

I remember Fields refereeing Kovalev v Hopkins, and Bika v Dirrell...

A quick googling of Fields says he did Crawford v Rios where he allowed Crawford to get away with a fair bit of holding and hitting*. Perhaps an advantage for Wlad?

*so says the report, I cannot be arsed to check.

Let's just be grateful that it's not IJL, TO'C, Phil Edwards or Dave Parris involved. Certainly this ref made the not exactly health conscious decision to let Hopkins hear the final bell v Kovalev, though in the moment I wanted the ref to give him the chance. So I would imagine we will see the fight reach it's natural conclusion.

What's the score with officials expenses these days, does the promoter still pay for the hotels?

Yeah, thank God IJL isn't on the list
