Im more interesting in how badly Joshua's brand would be dented by a loss to the 41 yr old Klitschko, who Fury beat comfortability.

Would his commercial viability take a real knock?

I think it would take a knock, because a significant part of AJ's appeal seems to be his aura of destructiveness.

Losing to an inactive 41 year old who got 8-4'd/9-3'd by Fury wouldn't be a good look, even considering Wlad's dominance in previous years.

Yeah, I tend to feel the same way. It's got to take the gloss off.

Only Vitali was better.

We should remember that it wasn't long ago that the two were being touted as the best ever themselves. You know, the usual facts bandied about - height, size, reach, record, tactics, knockout stats ect.

To get some context let's imagine a 27 year old Klitschko versus a 41 year old Joshua.

I think its fair to say that Wlad is the greatest 41 year old heavyweight in history.

That's a good thought experiment.

Is this a real question? THERE'S NO WAY WLAD WINS THIS FIGHT. So it's not even worth talking about. Wlad is going to get his head kicked in and retire by the 6th round. GOOD RIDDANCE.
Keep your eyes closed and click your perty sparkly red heels while repeating that.
I knew Wlad's rump swab wouldn't be able to resist commenting about something I said. How you could stay up there where it's wet, dark and smelly is beyond me man.

Just keep your eyes closed and clicking those heels, caldorothy. It will all be over one way or another soon.

Please do make sure that you are not close to sharp objects or high bridges and balconies prior to the fight. :geek:

Training specifically to beat Ali and accomplishing that objective does not make anybody numero uno... Several individuals performed that feat... Of course none of them had the overwhelming physical advantages of Wilt Chamberlain. That's why Ali refused to sign the contract to fight him.

NO... Losing to Klitschko won't hurt Joshua at all. He'll win the rematch easily if such an unlikely event happens.

An aging Max Schmeling knocked an undefeated young Joe Louis kicking... Louis was 24-0 and considered the best Heavyweight in the world by far... He was a 10/1 favorite -- which was not 1/4th as underwhelming as Buster Douglas trying to take on an undefeated Mike Tyson... He beat the crap out of Mike from Jump Street.. You had Hasim Rahman delivering his unlikely blow.. That was a joke.. It could be time for another funny.. I doubt seriously that Wlad has a chance in Hell. His reflexes and timing are shot, but anything can happen when 2 guys weighing 245 with KO power start throwing. You make a simple miscalculation like Michael Moorer, and BOOM...Thud ... that old man you've been beating up took you out kid.

What did Schmeling and Douglas have in common? An overwhelming confidence they would emerge the winner.. Not every upset winner is so cock sure of themselves, but they know they have a chance.. Upset losses didn't hurt Tyson, Louis, or Lewis.. Ali's loss to Ken Norton didn't set him back.. The rematch did 10 X the money.. Shocking upsets are pretty much the norm in sports.. If you can throw 1 bad pitch you can throw 5.. If you can throw 1 errant pass you can throw 6.. A bad night can get worse.. You can catch a shot that breaks your jaw.. knocks you out.. cuts your eye.. or leaves you paralyzed on the canvas clutching your stomach -- which happened to Pacquiao twice while facing 2 very obscure fighters who could hit. Sheeet happens. However, get your money down on Josh anyway because the odds are looooooong that Wlad will connect.

Certainly not. Joshua has never even fought, let alone, beat, a single top ranked boxer. Martin was his biggest win and Martin was the most ridiculous so-called champ ever, having won the belt without landing a single punch. If Wlad still has it and hasn't gotten old I expect him to win very easily.
You must be blind to say Martin never landed a punch on Glazkov... He outfought him in the first 2 rounds and landed a really nice straight left, the best punch of that fight... He never took a hard head shot and he wasn't getting beaten before Glazkov bowed out with an injury... Glazkov will come back and do well when he resumes his career... He'll never beat Martin... People are playing Martin down because AJ beat him so easily.. ...

Here's the fight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IBAmwG3ff0

Suppose you show me just exactly where all those wonderful events you are fantasizing about happened.

"He never took a hard head shot "

Who said he did? You must be talking to yourself.

There's no way he doesn't get knocked out right? :yay: I actually made my tee time early for tomorrow so i can see that big dumb goof get knocked out live. I predict a Wlad free world around 4:47pm EST here in the states. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Povetkin has a better résumé than Joshua at the moment. It all depends on what Joshua goes on to achieve after the fight.

Yeah. There are a few guys in Wlad's win column who have better resumes than Joshua. And even though it's premature to state it, I feel it will come to fruition that Joshua is most likely the best talent Wlad has faced professionally.

Biggest crowd, probably biggest world wide audience.
It depends on how the fight goes, if we get another ClinchCo type fight, then I don't think so
I recall hearing that Wlad walked away with 20m from the fight with the Povetkin fight. Doubt he'll be earning even close to that for this one.
20 million what? The currency is extremely important.

Joshua and Klitschko are rumoured to get £15m each from this fight.
