If Wlad wins how much does that deflate boxing in GB?
I know people like to moan about casual fans but they are the lifeblood of any sport that wants to thrive and prosper. If their man Joshua gets sparked will it be detrimental to everyone in the sport?

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Wladamir Klitschko - April 29th 2017
In many of the build up videos I have seen, I'm a bit surprised at how poor Joshua's footwork is and he looks cumbersome when he shadow boxes, rather stiff.
Maybe he's too muscled and done too many weights? I do think he has tremendous power though, and his timing seems good in fights.
Wlad doesn't look amazing on the pads either, and seems a bit forced trying to dance around. He may be playing some of his mind games. His straight shots are thudding though.
Wlad just seems so confident and 'in the zone' unlike against Fury. Joshua is definitely a little unsure for the first time in his pro career.
This is still a fight where no result would surprise me, but I'm beginning to lean to Wladimir out boxing Joshua.

More vomit. Every Joshua 'article' seems to be a rehashed press release. Apparently he is WBC and commonwealth champ too

Oh and he generally goes to bed at 9 pm.....and apparently the streets of Watford are 'mean'.

For me not much because they aren't fans of boxing and sky doesn't educate them at all.Ezzard wrote:If Wlad wins how much does that deflate boxing in GB?

Will be full of coked up idiots on Saturday.
Also the good thing could mean less PPVs. I've hammered it here a lot recently that sky want an old WWE PPV model of one a month.
If Joshua wins that is realistic.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Wladamir Klitschko - April 29th 2017
How is it realistic? WWE can have a PPV each month because they can get the big names out every day if they want. Who's going to be headlining PPV cards at a rate of one every four weeks?Naandrew wrote:For me not much because they aren't fans of boxing and sky doesn't educate them at all.Ezzard wrote:If Wlad wins how much does that deflate boxing in GB?

Sky will win either way. It'll be that or "The Resurrection". Where AJ goes back to blasting out Bulgarians... WOW HE'S BACK. KLITSCHKO REMATCH NOW.Naandrew wrote:For me not much because they aren't fans of boxing and sky doesn't educate them at all.Ezzard wrote:If Wlad wins how much does that deflate boxing in GB?

Thanks Wes. You're great at keeping us up to date.

Yes thanks Wes!
Wlad has come in very light ! Lightest since 2008 ! Presumably he wasn't to be as mobile as possible ?
AJ at his heaviest ever ? Those headphones must weigh a lb or two ;)

I thought Wlad looked better on the scales Aj has the famous GH gut.
Wlad looks to have trained well and has a point to prove imo.
I'm still picking wlad to stop him even more so now

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Wladamir Klitschko - April 29th 2017
Wow that is an incredible crowd for a weigh in, getting the big fight nerves now. Wlad looks quite a bit bigger than AJ when you look at them from the back, taller than I thought as well; although apparently the all important reach is pretty much the same.
I can understand why the bookies make AJ a hot favourite, momentum, home advantage, mental toughness... and he's looked an out n out demolition machine.
But........I can't help thinking he's not really faced anyone of note...and WK of course could be past it and get blasted out early, which I am really hoping will be the case, but there is also a very good chance Wlad could take the younger inexperienced man to school.
I think the AJ chin is good though, that was a good reaction from a full blooded left hook bomb against Whyte.
But if Kitchko has a great game plan, keeps him on the end of that ram rod jab and crashes in a few right hands, it could be hide behind the couch time.

I don't think there's much to read into the weights in fairness. Joshua is a pound heavier than his last fight and only a few ounces above his weight for Cornish. Wlad is a pound lighter than the Jennings fight.knockout wrote:Yes thanks Wes!

When you're dealing with guys who weigh more than seventeen stone it's not really that dramatic unless one of them was coming in at 260 or so.
Joshua v Klitschco
Anyone make anything of the fact that Josh is a career heavy and nearly a stone heavier than Klitschko?
Also that Klitschko is the lighest he has been in over 9 years.

Re: Weigh in - Joshua (career heavy) vs Klitschho (lightest in 9 years)
AJ's come to bulldoze, Klit's come to move. At 41 he won't be able to move so well anymore, so Joshua will probably blitz him with his brutishness.
Re: Weigh in - Joshua (career heavy) vs Klitschho (lightest in 9 years)
Klitschko is in some shape for a 41yr old
Nice and lean and poweful ready to get that left hook off I expect
But AJ being a stone heavier he can come forward like a steam train and try and muller Klitschko which I suspect is 100% what he'll try and do?
Klitschko may be in phenomenal shape for a 41yr old but how well can he move for a 41yr old?
I doubt Josh is gonna blast him out in 2-3rnds though

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Wladamir Klitschko - April 29th 2017
No shocks in the weights. People can quote years etc but realistically it's only a 2-3 pounds diff from usual weights
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Wladamir Klitschko - April 29th 2017
I think the low weight is another Wlad mind game. He's only ever been this light less than a handful of times in 68 fights. It shows he's ready. If you look at it another way, they are both similar in height, but AJ is lugging 10lbs extra around. Wlad could come in a 250 lean if he really wanted. Experience tells him leaner is better.
Whats gets me is the 20lbs of lean muscle AJ has put on since late 2013. I suppose its easier if your full time job is being a gym guinea pig to the best sports science money can buy.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Wladamir Klitschko - April 29th 2017
I'm thinking Joshua is gonna take Wlad out
Wlad looked a sad state after Fury schooled him, I see the same happening again only this time he's in with someone that hits much much harder than Fury. Of course Wlad is no mug, but his time has been and gone - He's never reacted well to being hit hard. I doubt he's going to keep Joshua at bay for 12 rounds.
