You're off your nut if you think that Joe is running from KesslerMattyp151 wrote:Empty threats to a guy he knows he will never get in the ring with...good job, Joe....that's class right there.
Won't say a thing to Kessler, but is jumping at every "Antonio Tarver threat" he can muster.

Well, fine. The bottom line remains the same: Calzaghe continues to avoid the real challenges in the ring.Coconut wrote:He's not running from Kessler. He's running to names that will generate 10, 15 times more cash. Kessler has no name outside a very narrow core of boxing fans and outside Denmark. Sad but true.

I agree
If you read it, with all the references to Kool Aid and Twinkies, it looks like it has been created by some US hack who is too stupid to know these things don't exist outside the US
even if JC does know what they are, they just don't fit naturally into a sphere of reference to be used in an interview
I suspect if they really asked JC, he would have just said "Toney's a fat C**t" and he would have been right

Perhaps, maybe, just a thought, but impressive though Kessler is, he could do some pressing himself for once. By staying in Denmark he's got to realise that he's just tracking the Damgaard career path - nobody is going to be interested in fighting him because the general populace haven't got a scooby who he is.
I'm assuming Kessler wants the fight but he's GOT to get his name out there. At the moment even Clinton Woods is a far, far bigger seller than Kessler. Johnson, Jones, Tarver, all bigger names by a gazillion miles. Kessler's just not a feasible opponent and no matter how much you or I may want to see it he's just not doing enough.
