I agree, nothing landed, he wasn't hurt at that time. He fully recovered from when he was hurt by an earlier knockdown.

The ref was on Joshua's side throughout the fight.

Very good fight

Wlad was the boxer in there, better drilled boxer with the fundamentals.

It was smart boxing from Joshua to come out firing in 5 as Wlad had started 2, 3 and 4 quick looking for an early straight right. Joshua met him full on. When he had Wlad hurt I thought he'd see him off, but he tired badly and huge credit to Wlad to not only get up but finish the round stronger. As per the Whyte fight while on top he got buzzed by the left hook and it really set him back

In 6 I thought Joshua was a right hand away from being beat. Heavy shot to put him down and Joshua was all at sea. Wlad had a big chance to win the fight in 6, 7 and possibly 8 while Joshua was mainly refuelling.

Late Joshua had his legs back and Wlad was close to seeing the job home. Huge uppercut won the fight. Reminiscent of Lewis vs Vitali. Really rocked Wlad. A lot of the time Wlad is so much physically greater that when close up there's nothing they can do about being held but Joshua is as physically strong and more and it was a wicked heavy shot.

No problems with the stoppage, Wlad was out of there. I feel sorry for Wlad he fought a great fight. His boxing display didn't deserve the defeat but I can't take it away from Joshua hanging in there.

Wlad like his brother gets more credit in a defeat than any of his wins

Aw, come on. You should give both fighters a lot of respect. Klitschko made his best fight in years at the age of 41. I am sure the 41 year old version of Joshua will not anywhere near this level. Joshua had to face a much better prepared Wlad, than Fury had. He came back and finished the fight in a world class way. This was the best heavyweight world championship fight since Lennox vs Vitali.

I don't like furys chances in this match up

Wlad had the big right hand that keep Joshua honest so he was being rushed and beaten on. I don't see fury having the fire power to earn that respect. Fury it seems with his range would control periods of the fight but I don't see too much in furys arsenal to keep Joshua off him

I agree. The commentators were saying it was Lewis vs. Tyson which was more anticipated, but in retrospect, Lewis vs. Vitali K. was the previous best. Interesting how both fights involved the Klitschko brothers. First, Vitali was younger than Lewis and the future of the division. Now, Joshua younger than Wladimir and also the future (and the present). Both Lewis and Joshua are British. There are similarities.

Edit: oops, though Wlad had said that! Anyway...

Wlad got so much better at English when he started dating Hayden P., and after years of marriage he's lost a lot of his accent. He even said the crowd was 'awesome'. But he still might mix up a few words here and there, especially after being knocked down 3 times :D

He's come a long way from saying he would "pizza-face for 12 rounds" David Haye, in retaliation for the t-shirt "showing cut head of brother"

Someone could get dropped 10 times, be down 11-0, then win by KO in the 12th; did they win more easily than someone who 12-0'd the same opponent? Obviously not
Fury fought a less than valiant fight though. Constantly moving back and using reach to score. He wasn't going for it. AJ and Wlad were in eachothers faces going for it. I'm certain AJ will get more recognition for what he did and how he handled Wlad than Fury did.

Easy to say that

One could also say that Fury beat Wlad far more easily because he has tools that AJ doesn't
Do you believe that?

What a fight!

Loved it. Why is everyone whining about the best heavyweight fight for years?

Klitchjo is a winner. Chinned by an even bigger winner. Actually they're the same height. Is it true that Kitcshmo was WC?

He wasn't going for it because he didn't need to. He has boxing skills that AJ doesn't, and he used those to outpoint Wlad without having to go through hell.

Yes

Fury has a better jab, and much better lateral movement than AJ. He's also got several inches in reach on him. Wlad could not get inside or set to punch against Fury, whereas AJ was static and right there for him. Watching tonight's fight, it makes me confident that a sharper Wlad, one from 4-5 years ago, would've beaten basic AJ.

Fundamentally, Fury is lacking when compared to AJ. Fury used his size and backward movement to outpoint Wlad. Had he not had a size advantage, I highly doubt he would have had the same success. AJ does not share the same physical advantages as Fury, so he had a different game plan. In no way do I believe that Fury is better fundamentally than either of the men that fought tonight. When physical attributes used the right way are employed, they produce winning results. Fury's performance against Wlad, and Wlad's that fight, will lend to one of the dullest HW fights in history. This fight was one fo the best in a very very long time.

Fury was not there to KO Wlad, he was there to outpoint him. AJ was there for the stoppage. Risk opens up opportunities. Fury risked very little.

Sure, Wlad-AJ was no doubt more entertaining than Wlad-Fury

Only in the UK was this a good stoppage. Joshua is a hype job at this point. Going life and death with an ancient Klitschko does nothing to suggest he'll be at the top much longer.

Only in the HW division is outpointing your opponent not seen as good boxing. Christ, what messed up logic. Joshua simply doesn't possess Fury's boxing ability, and never will.

He's not a kid, he's nearly 28. He's in his physical prime FFS.

klitchko was down twice n not throwing back, did you want to see him take a damaging blow before ref stopped it?? Funny he never questioned the stoppage

Why complain about a great fight. Boxing fans should love it!

It is true that AJ and Klitchco are the same height. Both big buggers lol, and I think that was a big thing for vladimor, he's now lost his last 2 against guys his size. Maybe klitchko is so used to beating smaller boys like polev.

I agree..certainly closer to his prime than Wlad!

He's got plenty more years ahead of him, but he's not beyond criticism.

he's a kid in terms of boxing experience at world level, sorry I didn't phrase it properly for you
