I HATE TO SAY IT...BUT...WELL DONE WLAD!

Post by caldo2025 »

I've never been a fan and have always had a hard time watching Wlad fight but what an effort. To get up off the canvas and turn that fight around and do what he did tonight, remarkable. ONE of the greatest heavyweight fights in my lifetime and Wlad deserves way more credit for showing up and putting it all out there.

With AJ and the young tough heavyweights that we have now, Boxing is going to be stronger than it's been in a very very very long time.

Your superstar went life and death with old Wlad (Fury hardly broke a sweat), and looked finished in the 6th. Credit to both for showing huge heart and putting on a great fight.

Wlad did an awesome job, I think Wilder did the right thing anyway by continue to duck him till the day of today being in fear after all.
I thought the Wlad era was completely over, but it certainly isn't.

Well, Fury 'not breaking a sweat' sure is an interesting way of viewing that fight

I tell you, Wlad is going to have a tough time watching this fight. He had AJ out on his feet and for 3 rounds just pawed the jab and let AJ get his bearings back. He had him dead to rights.

With that said though, AJ probably learned a ton in this one. He punched himself out going for that KO and it almost cost him the fight. What a great fight. I'm watching it again, that's it.

How do you think an AJ/Wilder fight goes if they fight next? After today, I think Wilder has a VERY good shot at beating AJ. How great would that fight be. Screw this Fury talk. That would be horrible for the division seeing that hairy sweaty mess in there.

Btw, how the hell did AJ not get knocked out by that right hand? That was a sledgehammer.

Ya, if Wlad was more aggressive I think he could've very well stopped AJ, but that just isn't his nature anymore.

AJ has a bright future ahead of him, and has now shown twice that he can come through rough moments to win, with tonight's being VERY rough. To come back when you're gassing and as badly hurt as this is no easy accomplishment:

Easy win for AJ, Wilder is even 20 pounds lighter as Wlad. I think Wlad will also easely win against Wilder. The only one who can get AJ down is himself by a lack of oxidine, that's what happened against Whyte, where he gave it all in the first round and now against Wlad, where he gave it all in the 5th.

Agreed, AJ needs to watch his gas tank when he sees blood in the water. But I disagree with you. Wilder is way more active than Wlad was and I see those two in a classic battle. How AJ got back up after that Wlad right hand is beyond me though. Can't question the man's chin after that bomb.

Wlad's two most famous fights were loses LOL. Sanders and AJ. I can't remember any of the other ones he's had.

Wlad was a great fighter. Huge respect for him for his performance tonight. The only regret I have about his career that he very rarely fought like tonight during his 10-years reign (only Pulev fight comes to mind). I hope he retires now and gets remembered as a great champion. He deserves it.

Wlad absolutely could've ended that fight in Round 6 but didn't press enough. Big mistake. Fight was his.

There's probably too much money in a rematch for it not to happen with how good and close this fight was. Guessing it happens again in the same venue.

There are anti-aging products and services out there such as stem cell therapy that could stop or reverse the aging process. It is expensive, but Wlad can afford it. I wonder if it is acceptable within the rules for a pro athlete to do.

I think so too. Wilder has a good chance of KO if one of his wild swings land. Why Wlad didn't finish off AJ after he wobbled around for a round and a half I will never know. Perhaps it didn't match his prediction stick?

What!? Wlad fucked up Pulev. It was quite a boxing match.
