Re: Anyone knows official scores after 10. round ?
Out of what I remember:
C= close
1CAJ
2CWl
3 AJ
4 AJ
5 AJ + KD
6 WL + KD
7 WL
8 CAJ
9 CAJ
10 AJ
11 AJ + 2KD + fight stopped
I did have a slight favour for AJ I'd have to admit.

Yes, they posted them after the fight and I hope that I remember correctly but one judge had Wlad up by 2 points, one judge had AJ up by 2 points and the third had AJ up by 3 points.
That fight was pretty easy to score i thought. I scored it myself, not that it means anything, and i had Wlad up by 1 going into the 11th. But i didn't give AJ a 10-8 round in the 6th for his knockdown. I thought Wlad did enough late in that round to gain back one of the points he lost with the knockdown. But what do i know.

It was even, IMHO. I will rewatch this wonderful match, of course......caldo2025 wrote:Yes, they posted them after the fight and I hope that I remember correctly but one judge had Wlad up by 2 points, one judge had AJ up by 2 points and the third had AJ up by 3 points.

Two (Trella & Vazquez) had Joshua up by a couple points and one (Weisfeld) had Wlad up 95-94 I believe.

I'm just telling you what the judges had for scores. It was as close to even as you could get in my mind too. It would have been a shame had the action continued in the same way and it went to the cards because AJ would have won big on two of the cards. That would have been an ugly way to end a great fight.ValMar wrote:It was even, IMHO. Joshua was ahead on two of the judges’ scorecards after 10 rounds. One by 96-93 and another by 95-93. The other had it 95-93 to Klitschko.ValMar wrote:It was very, very close....

I gave AJ the 5th.
For most of that fight AJ got a boxing lesson, the cards were a disgrace.

Split decision on this level would be very harmful for boxing.

The judges scorecards that I quoted only reflect the action that took place up to the 10th round.ValMar wrote:Split decision on this level would be very harmful for boxing.
If the referee hadn't called a halt to the action during the eleventh round, Anthony Joshua would have enjoyed an unassailable lead on the scorecards entering the 12th round.
In fact, AJ would have won the fight by the proverbial country mile, which is a shame considering the competitive nature of the bout.
That being said, having a 90,000+ crowd roar with excitement whenever Joshua threw a shot that glanced off Wladimir's shoulders, would have surely influenced the judges into thinking those sort of punches actually landed.
I'm not complaining about this, but the noisy British crowd does seem to influence judges' scoring (i.e. GGG-Brook).
Re: Anyone knows official scores after 10. round ?
At least all three judges were from neutral countries. Not like most or nearly all American fights that get 3 American judges no matter where the fighters come from
Re: Anyone knows official scores after 10. round ?
Anyway, the fight was competitive, and I can not agree with some friends (and some members of forum here) who claims that Klitschko gave boxing lesson to Joshua (before the 11. round, of course). I would rather speak about nuances, and I have to repeat that my personal score was 94-94.

No way round 5 was a 10/8 round for joshua Wlad fought back to make it a 10/9 round that round should be shown to aspiring boxing judges to show them the type of round that is still only a 10/9 round even though the winner of the round scored a knockdown i had wlad leading 96/94 after round 10 top fight

I can not agree, but it could be an interesting topic.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:No way round 5 was a 10/8 round for joshua Wlad fought back to make it a 10/9 round that round should be shown to aspiring boxing judges to show them the type of round that is still only a 10/9 round even though the winner of the round scored a knockdown i had wlad leading 96/94 after round 10 top fight

There was a small dispute with my friends, You mention, Although Joshua KD Wlad, it would be a 10-8 round, but due to Wlad dominated from that point in the round, it would be scored a 10-9.
Would it not be a 9-8 for for AJ? Technically, its the same as scoring it a 10-9 because it's still a points difference, but we couldn't settle the debate?
Re: Anyone knows official scores after 10. round ?
Wlad should have been 3 or 4 points ahead if it was scored honestly.
Re: Anyone knows official scores after 10. round ?
Wlad was up 2 pts on my card through 10. But obviously everyone should expect that considering the venue WK was gonna be behind on 2 cards. If you don't clearly win a round against a British blueblood you don't get the Round. It's tried and true.
