Prefer Charlie Webster myself.
She is a right treacle and more to the point understands boxing.

Re: Anna Woolhouse
That seems to be the done thing at Sky. Adam Smith and Jim Watt used to talk dribble over the ring walks too. Drives me nuts. Their boxing coverage is getting worse if you ask me - Froch, Bellew, Nelson, Paul Smith - all afraid to give a proper opinion or to call a fight properly. Just yes men following a script. As for Adam Smith and his overused boxing cliches, don't get me started. The man loves himself.LancashireLoyal wrote:She talks over ringwalks which pisses me off.Whether she's been told to do this or not i dont know but she seems to just carry on waffling sh it right up until the fighters are getting announced

Re: Anna Woolhouse
Just watched the countdown show on Sky and for me she's getting fvcking worse. More and more ridiculous "comedy" moments about Paulie being old, Johnny losing his pro debut etc
What the fvck is wrong with Sky. It's not a fvcking game show it's a serious sport. I don't tune into a comedy show expecting regular interruptions of boring political discourse and similarly I don't tune into a boxing show expecting regular interruptions of sh1te humour.
Who the fvck is this coverage aimed at ?? Who's responsible for it ? The contrast between Sky's pantomime bollocks and BT Sport's professional, informative coverage is massive.
And I've gotta pay £18 to listen to this pudendum on Saturday night. Fvcking hell.

I usually dislike the token female presenter but Anna Woolhouse and Charlie Webster are both knowledgeable IMO.

Anna Woodhouse is gorgeous. And I like her glasses.

Virtually every link is sprinkled with inane jokes and needless fake laughs that we don't get when Ed or Adam are doing it. Boxing, or any top level sport for that matter, isn't light entertainment - it's serious business for the protagonists and the fans yet this lightweight reduces it to the level of an Ant n Dec show.
The contrast between Sky's dumbing down and BT Sport's entry into the market with a team of serious, highly professional presenters and pundits has been noticeable.
Wouldn't kick her out of bed though.

Not during the act perhaps but as soon as she started critiquing my performance she'd be gone.ILikeBeer wrote:

That Leanne Johnson is quite something. Always expect her to do this:

Re: Anna Woolhouse
I agree but then at the same time I'm not into ringwalks as normally it's the fighter walking to the ring backed by some generic rap shite blaring away in the background, talk over that for sure but don't talk over Carl Froch coming into the ring to AC/DC.Deno1986 wrote:That seems to be the done thing at Sky. We all like eye-candy but not if she (or he?) doesn't know her stuff.
Woolhouse is a good presenter, but Charlie Webster knows her stuff and loves boxing - puts her in a different league.
Re: Anna Woolhouse
Eye candy is everywhere....just do some googling (or pornhubing) on your phone while you watch.
I'd much rather have an ugly female commentator who knows her stuff and does a good job...

Re: Anna Woolhouse
I'd rather they just had a commentator and a co-commentator, they can do the talking to the cameras bits too, how much does it cost to have all those people ringside like Carl 'Chisora should win because I've never heard of the other guy' Froch, surely the budget can be better spent.

I didn't think she was too bad actually. She's no Paul Dempsey obviously, but did a reasonable job of keeping things moving. She seems more knowledgeable than Froch, although that's not hard.

Might as well put it up the poo shute. You only live once.
Re: Anna Woolhouse
Woolhouse is a far better presenter than Webster. I used to watch Webster do speedway and I thought she was awful. I don't deny Webster probably knows more about boxing than Woolhouse but Woolhouse is much more comfortable in front of the camera, at times Webster's on screen performance is cringeworthy and awkward.
Regarding the merits of each woman's rodability, again Woolhouse by a country mile for me...
