Someone big who's great a timing straight rights, ties up inside, is light on his feet with a good jab and awesome power. Joshua will have learnt loads last night, like Fury did when he came back after losing to McDermott and being knocked over heavily by Cunningham
In my opinion, Wlad was nowhere near his best versus Fury. Bad camp whatever. Maybe it was all Fury's skills that bamboozled him but unless Fury comes back and wins a second big fight we will never know

If last night showed us one thing it's that you can't write AJ off though. Massive fight. Hope it happens. Also hope Tyson takes a warm up first though.
Fury will be laying in a huge twitching lump before then.

I don't see this fight happening. Fury has a long way to come now to get to where he needs to, in order to dodge AJ for 12 rounds.

As of right now (obviously not this second since Fury is a drug addled whale) Fury is the only HW on the planet that can beat AJ. I have that fight 60/40 Fury.

Fury is well out of the frame right now to be honest. How many more fights do we think Joshua will have had before a future bout vs Fury can be considered realistic? I'm thinking at least 2, maybe 3 or 4. If AJ keeps winning against decent opponents it gets harder and harder for Tyson and that career defining win vs Wlad in Germany gets further and further in the past. Lots of people are considering this potential fight thinking as if Fury just bamboozled Klitschko recently, it was 18 months ago and by the time of a possible Joshua bout it will be 2 to 3 years past.
Fury has been inactive for so long now that if he ever does get in contention for a fight with AJ it will be like starting a second career! Fury has natural talent but he has a lot of work to do in and outside of the ring to get near a realistic shot at fighting AJ and I wonder if he can do that without going off the rails at some point? He really isn't in the equation right now and lineal champ or not, until he gets fit, gets his licence back and actually climbs back into a ring somewhere and beats someone decent he shouldn't even be talked about in the same sentence as Joshua, it is absolutely pointless right now.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury
All credit to Joshua on his win last night, fair play to him he found something and dug deep when he looked f*cked but apart from the sheer grit he shown us to do that Joshua looked fairly one dimensional to me last night and what he had been doing in camp I don't know because at many points in the fight he was completely blowing out of his a*se and alot earlier than I wouldl've expected him to be as well
Wlad didn't follow up on the moments he had and he will have to live with that, but I think he couldl've got the job done last night as Joshua was there for the taking at one point, but he didn't and thats by the by now
Fury's jab would give AJ nightmares imo, and it is a worry about how long will Fury be out and what fights Joshua will have inbetween then but for me I have always maintained that Fury would beat Joshua and I still do I saw absolutely nothing last night to change that, Joshua was sloppy and sluggish at alot of times throwing jabs with absolutely nothing behind it and other shots with nothing behind it whatsoever, but this is boxing, anything can happen and Joshua found a second wind after looking f*cked last night and got the win but in my opinion he doesn't beat Fury

Perhaps. Joshua definitely needs to get his weight down too mind, thought he came in much too heavy last night and nearly paid the price when he started gassing.kbackup408 wrote:You reckon? Re: Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury
So did I, he was gassing badly, nearly cost him, silly to be that heavy really, and he didn't even try and use it to his advantageBoxerbeetle wrote:Perhaps. Re: Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury
A rather full/large warehouse full of "what ifs" for me and all those doubts are stored in Tyson's shed at present.....
- Can he get properly fit again and then actually sustain a high-level of fitness?
- Do they plot a half-sensible, realistic route back that allows Tyson to regain his full sharpness or just take the first available date with AJ?
- Will Tyson listen to Peter again and fully commit himself to Peter's camps, precise fight tactics and practices?
- Can Tyson completely clear his head so that he becomes the full-time pro he needs to be or will there be issues which still distract/weaken him?
- How does he react to the rise of AJ? Hugely inspired, angry and with a real target to aim at or "just show me the cheque" and then I am done.
An awful lot of testing, substantial rebuilding work seems to be facing Tyson and that's just to get competitive again.
Will be interesting to see what he can do, especially because if he gets it right then we have a great fight on our hands and the UK becomes the epicentre of HW boxing.

Fury's thrown it away and Joshua is learning every day.
Joshua will break him down to the body, slow him down then go for the kill.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury
Putting aside all the what ifs and assuming we were talking about the Fury that faced Klitschko, I could honestly see it going either way.
I can see how Joshua could go through Fury, not worried by his power and bulldose him.
I could see Fury fight a cagey fight and wear Joshua down, with him wasting big bombs, then catching him late
Just hope we see that Tyson again till we find out

Peak Fury could probably outbox Joshua. Its difficult to see at this stage Fury getting back to that

Ha, there is some truth to that I think. Fury kept Wlad flinching with flicks and feints. Eventually Joshua will decide to just walk through whatever may or may not be coming at himdavie wrote:Love itStuffs wrote: Fury's key v Klitschko was confusion. You can't confuse Joshua. I agree with the poster who says Joshua's body punching worth he right hand would be a key weapon in breaking Fury down
Re: Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury
I did think this was a done deal that Joshua would stop fury but I do give fury a chance now, but still think the odds are in a Joshua stoppage favour.
Fury doesn't have too much fire power like Wlad did that Joshua has to worry about. Fury does have big heart though, so if he can survive the barrages, then Joshua did clearly tire doing that to Wlad (combined with being made to miss and getting buzzed by left hook - tiring wasn't solely punching himself out). If fury can follow that plan and stay upright, when Joshua was in that tired state he was there to be taken.
Overall I see Joshua stoppage

Joshua never change gear, he got out his car, climbed on a fvcking bull and charged at him
