Because Joshua was right in front of him, so there's much less chance of missing. Fury's movement meant that he kept having to reset, and given the safety first style he's developed over the years he wasn't able to pull the trigger as he obviously wasn't confident in his ability to land on Fury without being countered.
I know why Fury beat Wlad

But even a blind man could see Klitschko was better, sharper and more focussed on Saturday
His movement was better, he looked 5 years younger than he had even against Jennings, he was clearly more motivated and had learned lessons from his previous defeat.
He'd got used to cruising to victories for over a decade
Its highly unlikely he vastly improved after 17 months out of the ring and at 41 years of age.

I think that's doing a little disservice to Fury.

Joshua's lack of boxing ability gave Wladimir the opportunity to stalk, jab and try time plenty of rights and hooks. I think Fury's movement and general fistic nous would have nullified much of this.

That being said, Wlad did have a totally different mindset and was obviously determined to redeem himself and be champion again. It really was an aggressive and gallant challenge, so perhaps he might have provided some scares. I'd probably still lean to a Fury win though.

If you know why Fury beat Wlad then you should know why Wlad looked so much better against Joshua. Was the version of Klitschko that fought Joshua better than the one that fought Fury? Possibly. Either way, did Joshua's style compared to Fury's help Klitschko to look more impressive? Definitely.

Would Fury be able to exploit the gunshyness of someone that couldn't pressure someone gassed and on the ropes?

No, that'd be impossible. Just like how Chisora was shot when he fought Fury, then suddenly the best he's been against Whyte. Wlad was suddenly shot against Fury, then suddenly the best he's been against joshua :brick:

Wlad let his hands go vs AJ so I don't know. Didn't throw a single left hook vs Fury... at points at Wembley Wlad went for broke, he never did once vs AJ so it would be good to know what would happen if Wlad went 'fvck it' and let his hands go vs Fury but maybe Fury was just expert in neutralising Wlad

The challenge remains: Give me one fight that shows Wlad demonstrating more variety, volume, movement, heart, and sharp punching than against Joshua. Should be remarkably easy if Wlad is so past it. You should probably be able to name me 10! Just one will do.

Maybe when he was throwing 11 jabs a round vs haye? or gassing badly and losing vs Brewster? Or staring at/fencing the dwarfed and outgunned Ibragimov for 12? Or falling apart against Sam Peter?

I'll be waiting.

No.

People are forgetting just how close that first fight was.... even if you gave it to Fury by a landslide - each round was pretty darn close.

Wlad had no clue what to do with Fury, whether you are powerful or not and in cracking condition, if someone is in front of you confusing you to the point where you haven't got any idea how to approach it you will still get beaten

Wlad was quality last night though

Well said, Wlad was absolutely class and schooled Joshua in many rounds. But Fry is just one of those annoying fighters who you cannot appreciate how good they are unless you have fought them

No. The Wlad that fought Fury was ridiculously negative, hardly throwing a shot. He was almost inactive in coming forward, save the last round. The Wlad on Saturday night would have seen a different outcome.

I wouldn't pick Fury to win either a rematch or a fight with Joshua.

Fury on average landed less than three punches a round more than Wlad did. You're right; it was a fight incredibly low on action with the right result in the end but hardly a masterclass. The fact Fury lost rounds to a guy who was landing around one shot per minute during the fight sums things up.

Could it have been wlads mindset Saturday that madw him go for broke along with joshua willing to be In front of him often.

Joshua was moving better than i thought he would but still has work to do.

If wlad threw punches without xaution could he have got more success v fury. Maybe the way to stop fury running is to rush him and close the gap he wants by swinging whilst coming in.

No, can't see it, Vlad would have caught up eventually.
