Ward is not even top 20, right?
Re: The 20 current best boxer p4p
Joshua above Gonzales?
Lomachenko No.1 despite himself saying he isn't yet?
No Ward?
If you don't rank Ward how the hell can Kovalev be so high?
No Frampton?
Kell Brook?

Lost to kovalev. Very inactiv in last couple of years. Has 1 last fight left in which he ll get brutalized. Rigo is the second best boxer in the world. But rarely fights. Thats why 11 and not top 2.greg wrote:Ward is not even top 20, right?
Re: The 20 current best boxer p4p
Gonzales lost. Joshua is the most impressiv hw in the last 30 years and he is arguably entering his prime. Not even in it. with atg power. Rare hw talent.BitPlayer wrote:Joshua above Gonzales?

Kovalev won and was very activ in reascent years. Beating hopkins pascal etc...ward not activ and lost.
Brook is in it..look closely
Isnt it nice that we have a p4p nu1 in loma who is quiet about his status instead of chicken who leaves out 0 opportunity to say he is the best?
Re: The 20 current best boxer p4p
This is a solid list, but Usyk is too low, and you have to agree that HW is the most important weight division.Jip wrote:Yes.ValMar wrote:Only Joshua ?ValMar wrote:Without HWs ?
Re: The 20 current best boxer p4p
What has the importance of the hw division to do with p4p? Which boxers are the best regardless of weight. Thats p4p and not the heavyweight divisiin is the most important division and therefore we should have multiple hw boxers in the top 20 regardless of quality.ValMar wrote:This is a solid list, but Usyk is too low, and you have to agree that HW is the most important weight division.Jip wrote:Yes.ValMar wrote:

Re: The 20 current best boxer p4p
It's based on skill and wins. AJ only has 1 good win to his resume and it comes against an old heavyweight where AJ struggled. If he would've done that to the one that Fury beat, it would've been a better win. Just, it's hard to put AJ in the top 15 after one good win against a fighter that was no longer on anyone's p4p list like he was prior to losing to Fury.Jip wrote:good list. except ward being 1 and aj so low after being undefeated with 100 ko % and beating an atg.

Its not about record. But who beats who regardless of weight. This means p4p. Therefore bertebiev could be considered p4p 1 if someone truly favours him over kovalev, gvozdyk etc, since it is p4p also loma.
Who is p4p the best boxer. Answer loma.
Which boxer currently has the best record. Answer, close call, but kovalev and ggg fought good opponents and had many fights always succesful.
Re: The 20 current best boxer p4p
The only thing differentiating everyone is record, though. If someone was so inclined, hell, they could just say that Shakur Stevenson is p4p #1 because he's so talented. What if someone says that Shawn Porter beats everyone because he had a razor-thin fight against Keith Thurman that Thurman could have considered to have lost.Jip wrote:This is what many people u included dont realize.Mexi-Box wrote:It's based on skill and wins. I think you have to revolve your list around records first and then start differentiating based on skill.
Plus, there is nothing to show that AJ beats Fury. If anything, Fury has shown that he beats AJ by easing through a p4p-rated Klitschko.
Re: The 20 current best boxer p4p
I can see who can be p4p number 1 after only 1 fight. Dont have to be a rocket Scientist to after only 1 pro fight a guy like roy. Loma or mosley look like the best boxer on earth. Records can also lie. Gonzales was considered 1 cause of his record and great opponents he faced. Now u guys know more. What i knew already years ago that roman was and still is a very good boxer, but never was on a quality like of loma or rigo.Mexi-Box wrote:The only thing differentiating everyone is record, though. Re: The 20 current best boxer p4p
By that estimate, Zab Judah, Deontay Wilder, and Ismayl Sillahk are all p4p fighters. And no, Gonzalez was fighting severely talented fighters for most of his career. A loss is something that happens when a fighter challenges himself against the very best.Jip wrote:I can see who can be p4p number 1 after only 1 fight. This is something that a lot of guys on the p4p list haven't done. Gonzalez at super fly is like Crawford fighting at super welterweight. He's at an advanced age and way past his best weight, but he's hanging in there with bigger, stronger fighters.

He beat a much better version than fury did. Your rating of Joshua is much more realistic than the experts, but fury faced a mannequin.Mexi-Box wrote:It's based on skill and wins. 1. Vasyl Lomachenko
2. Sergey Kovalev *
3. Andre Ward *
4. Gennady Golovkin
5. Srisaket Sor Rungvisai
6. Guillermo Rigondeaux
7. Terence Crawford
8. Roman Gonzalez
9. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez
10. Manny Pacquiao
That's my P4P Top 10. I don't ever bother going any further than that.
I have Kovalev over Ward because I thought he beat Ward, and since P4P lists are all subjective anyway I'm going to rank the person I feel deserved the win ahead of the person I feel didn't deserve it.

Re: The 20 current best boxer p4p
I was extremely sick and only a few hours shy of a 4 day hospital stay when I watched Gonzalez vs Sor Rungvisai. I watched the fight, but wasn't feeling well enough to properly score it. I do remember thinking Roman was gonna get it at the end though and being shocked when he didn't.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:You didn't have Roman winning?gilgamesh wrote:1. Vasyl Lomachenko

A convincing win over Felix Diaz in a few weeks will see him rise pretty high on my list. He probably should be higher already though admittedly.Jip wrote:I like your list. Why is crawford so low. Shouldnt he be around 3-4?gilgamesh wrote:1. Vasyl Lomachenko
