Other "big" fights with 120-108s across the board?

Post by SportsRatings »

I was trying to think of any other fights I've seen where all 3 judges scored a 10-9 round-for-round shutout. It seems there is always a 119-109 or even a bizarre 116-112 in other "shutout" fights I've seen. And when a fight is so clearly one-sided, the loser almost always gets knocked down at least once, altering the "pure" 10-9 cards, or the winner takes a round off to rest or showboat or something. Last night's fight might be the only 120-108 x 3 I can recall, but I'm sure there have been others.

Anyone think of any, especially in "big" (heavily promoted/for title) fights?

Floyd-Canelo should have been 120-108 3x

That's a good example of why it's so unusual to see 120-108 x 3. Remember that one judge scored the fight a DRAW, and 117-111 was the widest decision. I would have scored it 119-109 since Floyd took that one round off to taunt and dodge.

Wow, he's a great example. After that one he had 120-106 x 3 against Bursak, and prior to it he had 100-90 x 3 against Edwards and ALMOST another 100-90 x 3 against Khatchikian (one judge had a 99-91)
