Re: Betting thread
Gamboa is done, shame he faded fast. Didn't zee that ending coming, he worked himself back into the fight. Wrong fight breakdown for me, but under still hits. Ended just in time for you Jim, so congrats, we both picked up the W.
Re: Betting thread
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised when they came back from commercial and told us that Gamboa quit on the stool! What a fall for that boxer. Career is probably over on any serious level. Castellanos was about the only bettable underdog I'm not on this weekend unfortunately! Wish I hit him at +1400 as I often do, even small. But the under cashed in the main event and Rojas also came through as a small underdog so hopefully the dogs keep barking this weekend.armageto wrote:Gamboa is done, shame he faded fast. Re: Betting thread
Got Alvarez decision at just under 2/1 on betfair exchange, hedged with Alvarez ko 7-12 at 5/2 I think that's easy money imo. I'll also throw Chavez jr ko 7-12 at 20/1 in case of a freak ko happens.
Re: Betting thread
I know that most expect Canelo to win easily tonight, but one of the popular American facing books Bookmaker has some sick value lines with Chavez split & majority decision props at a whopping +6600 and +10000 respectively. This, compared to +1175 and +2800 for the same props at 5Dimes for example. As a gambler, I had to throw some on these lines.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wins by split decision (+6600) $40.00 for $2640.00
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wins by majority decision (+10000) $40.00 for $4000.00
Saul Alvarez wins by unanimous decision (+225) $50.00 for $112.50
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr./Saul Alvarez fight ends in technical decision (+3650) $15.00 for $547.50
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wins by split decision (+6600) $40.00 for $2640.00

Thanks Jim - I will see if any UK bookies have these lines.JimGunn wrote:I know that most expect Canelo to win easily tonight, but one of the popular American facing books Bookmaker has some sick value lines with Chavez split & majority decision props at a whopping +6600 and +10000 respectively. I am surprised at how much taller Chavez is, although he looks like a skeleton.... Canelo workrate is never that high.... I expect Canelo on points but looking at other possibilities
Re: Betting thread
The size difference in the ring tonight should be substantial. Hopefully if Chavez re-hydrated well he can make a very competitive fight out of this.boxingknockout wrote:Thanks Jim - I will see if any UK bookies have these lines.JimGunn wrote:I know that most expect Canelo to win easily tonight, but one of the popular American facing books Bookmaker has some sick value lines with Chavez split & majority decision props at a whopping +6600 and +10000 respectively. I can't find those lines on UK bookies. But earlier put £10 in JR win and fiver on JR pts. In an accumulator, the total rounds over might be interestingJimGunn wrote:The size difference in the ring tonight should be substantial. Re: Betting thread
What are you guys thinking about tommy ward? I watched all his fights, he becomes better in every round. He is a rising star and losing the fight to dickens means the end of the career. He signed a contract with warren who believes in his great future. Odds are 3/1. And he can win by points I guess.

I think he means which bookies. Best I can find is 2-1 with skybet and others.dams wrote:With Jazza DickensLondonirish wrote:littlepug wrote: I've had the same thoughts, good value

Re: Betting thread
Quick question on Ward as I know little about him. How is losing the end of his career? He's very young isn't he?dams wrote:What are you guys thinking about tommy ward? Re: Betting thread
Yep, he is 23. But Jazza already has loses in this division and no future there. If ward wants to continue his boxing career at the higher level, he must win.Stuffs wrote:Quick question on Ward as I know little about him. How is losing the end of his career? lol Yeah i meant which bookies PPower is 17/10. 3/1 is MASSIVE
Re: Betting thread
Hang on, not too sure on that. A loss at 23 isn't going to kill his career. James DeGale lost to George Groves early in his career and Anthony Crolla lost to Yousef Al Hamidi.dams wrote:Yep, he is 23. But Jazza already has loses in this division and no future there. Not disputing Ward isn't value but I'm not having it's the end of the road and a must win for him

Re: Betting thread
You can't get 3-1 - maybe the poster didn't understand decimal odds. Decimal you can get at 3.0, but traditional that is 2-1.Londonirish wrote:boxingknockout wrote:

Skybet, BetVictor, Betfred all offer 2-1. Sign up for a bonus too! Takes only 2 minutes
Re: Betting thread
havent checked prices yet but my bets one way or another for the weekend will involve the yafai brothers to win on points, ward to beat dickens, eggington to win on points, warrington ko, josh leather to win and gavin on points.

Re: Betting thread
Does anyone see value in Kiko Martinez? Yes he seems to have been around forever, and despite looking 45 is only 31... he can punch and Warrington has only 5 Kos in 24 fights. I've never seen Warrington (to my memory) so not sure how good he is. Martinez hasn't won a big fight since 2014 so maybe he's shot....
But you can get 9-1 on him.... is it worth a fiver? Anyone seen him fight? Cheers

Re: Betting thread
I was also thinking this. Plenty boxers have lost at earlier stages of their career. Lee Selby to throw in another.ozzy1875 wrote:Hang on, not too sure on that.
