Against Bellew, Haye came in fully expecting to simply blow Bellew away. He went in angry but arrogant and thought he could just walk in and flatten Bellew. He had no respect for Tony, didn't feel he posed a threat so he didn't box, he just came in loading up like a angry p*sshead swinging for the fences in a street corner dust up. He also came into the fight injured(you don't take overseas trips for fun days before a fight)

Because of that mindset he struggled to connect with anything proper against Bellew. So tight and wound up his punches could be seen coming from a mile off and Bellew boxed sensibly and bided his time. Then the achilles went properly and the rest is history.

This is all true and of not the first time DH fell victim to his own ego & hype ... remember when he was certain to flatten Jim Twite and KO that old geezer Carl Thompson !!!

Promoters will still want to deal with him. Haye isn't a Fury type; namely problematic to deal with and a history of no shows whilst selling no tickets. Haye does good business and a fight between him and Joshua makes a lot of sense if he gets fit.

I think we need to accept Joshua is going to have reasonably straightforward fights from time to time if he keeps winning. It's not like he's going to get to 23-0 having fought Wilder, Pulev, Parker and Fury and then just retire.
Haye posponed Klitschko with an injury, blamed the loss on a different injury, pulled out of Fury twice with injuries, pulled out of the Charr fight with an injury, and fought Bellew clearly injured. He has plenty of form as a bullshitter and a liar and the only reason he doesn't have load of illegitimate children with Orange TOWIE clones is his unrivalled pulling out ability.

Unless it's Bellew 2 (which I'm not at all arsed about) Or maybe somebody like Whyte, I think Haye should realise his days of being a bit player are gone take a pay cut and get himself on an AJ undercard as chief support.

Postponed the Wlad fight but it still happened, blamed it on an injury but so what, and fought Bellew during which he was injured. And?

As for the Fury pullouts, he spent several years out and actually had surgery. It's a lot more reasonable than Tyson's excuses.

It's easy to see weaknesses in Joshua; I see weaknesses in Joshua too, so it's no surprise that Haye can see them too.

Anthony himself said he isn't perfect, nor is he the finished article.

The question that David has to ask himself is whether he is the man that can really exploit those weaknesses.

It's been years since David has done anything of note in the HW division & he doesn't strike me as someone who is truly serious about the game; he is just after a payday & a trinket or two.

Joshua, on the other hand is serious about the game & he wants to be massive star & he is willing to fight the best.

That mindset, coupled with his natural talent & heart make him a very dangerous proposition for someone like Haye who just seems to be in it for the money.

Joshua is in the driving seat now & has proved himself: his victory over Wladimir is greater than anything Haye has done as an HW & he knows it.

If Haye is truly serious about fighting Joshua, forget about fighting car crash & waxwork dummies like De-Mori & Arnold Whatshisname, plus forget about fighting fat gobby cruiserweights & go after one of the big guns in the HW division & prove that he is worthy.

For Haye all roads leads to Bellew.

Shoulder and Achilles will never be 100% and will stop him competing at top level again at HW.

As soon as the Achilles allows him to train at full capacity expect the 'fake beef' with Bellew to start again. Probably a argument after Bellews next fight and let the Millions roll in.

Not even too interested in a Bellew rematch tbh

But it is true it is the only fight that makes sense for him

Joshua, at a less advanced stage of his career, did what Haye couldn't do. He beat Vlad and earned his respect.

Haye can still figure in watchable fights, but he has next to no change of beating Joshua. Haye has slipped an awful lot. If Haye was still 80% of what he once was he would have taken care of Bellew in 2/3 rounds.

How does Haye and Bellew indicate anything about the heavyweight division? They're irrelevant to the heavyweight landscape.
Because one has a belt and the other should'nt even be boxing , and people are talking about them at heavyweight .
Which one has what belt?

Postponed Wlad fight, but still fought. No big deal there.

Blamed Wlad loss on broken toe. True, but just shows lack of sportsmanship. Injury was legit, but was bad drills to bring it up after the fight

Chart fight. Can't remember the circs

Fury 1. Cut above his eye during sparring close to the fight. Legit

Fury 2. Reconstructive shoulder surgery

Bellew. Clearly had Achilles struggles prior to the fight, ruptured the Achilles during. Legit injury, didn't blame it on the loss. Learnt from Wlad fight.

Hayes injury prone but he's not fabricating stories. You get some athletes that are more susceptible to injury than others in all sports. In boxing its all on you, you can't just be not available for selection for the team for a month or pull out of a tournament. No boxer no event. It's unfortunate his body doesn't hold up for him

Injuries definitely hurt boxing events, the Hughie Fury a prime example, in Haye's case injuries have hurt his reputation. Not only to be an active boxer, but also to be reliable in big events. Haye was going into the Bellew fight clearly injured. Didn't even look that mobile in the opening 4 rounds, but he knew, considering the size of the promotion and the noise he was making, he could not pull out or postpone.

I don't think anyone seriously believes Hughie was injured though.

Maybe not (I personally don't), but a medical report posted to the WBO ensures that Hughie remains as the mandatory challenger.

Honestly think haye has the best style to beat aj...its almost the perfect style. But hes not big enough...hes too old...plus he looked finished against bellew. Needs to be honest with himself...if he wasnt injured before the achilles went its over for him at the top level. Doesnt have the right mindset. Struggles to get through a camp.

The only way he,d have a chance of doing anything is forget about the money...get back and start boxing every couple of months even every month. Do it the george foremann way. Gradually upping the competition.

They make the same mistake everytime with the comebacks chase the money then go in against guys their not ready for that early in the comeback. Think the truth is its guys that have fell out of love with the game but the moneys too good not to get back involved. The thing is they,d probably end up making more money in the end if they went about it the right way.

The two guys he fought was a good idea for me...but he needed to be fighting constantly for it to do him any good. Forget about his own promotions get signed up with someone that,ll get him fights.

Haye doesn't have the footspeed or chin to live with Joshua at this stage of his career

I'd have no problem with Haye fighting anyone if he could fight without become injured. He was clearly compensating for the injury from the beginning of the Bellew fight and he exacerbated it later on in the fight. Why people are getting so upset about that I don't know, you'd have had just as big a go at him for pulling out so it shows he can't win and you're just giving him shit for the sake of it. Seems like a waste of time to me.

Only one fight out there for Haye and Bellew; each other. If it is competitive and Haye wins, complete the three ring circus. By then, they will likely be fighting with walkers, ffs.
