He reminds me of James Nesbitt in Lucky Man.

Fighting a big punching Haye, rubs the bracelet. Achilles goes. I carry Power.

Boring pre-Wembley presser. Rub the bracelet. Wilders appears from nowhere. Beef on camera. The world starts talking about me as a serious threat at HW. It's all for you NAN.

Parker huge down under. Unifications look likely. Rubs the bracelet. Boxing world concurs Parker is a level below world champions and needs to fight me first. Don't ever step to me kid.

I have the dangerous mandatory Briedis and Usyk as division #1. Rub the bracelet. World forgets about them. Let's me fight at HW and defend belts when ready. Forget Louis I'm the real Bomber kid.

Watched Rocky 4 with the kids. Rubbed bracelet. Starred in new Rocky. Beat the star at goodison. DEES FISTS FEED DA KIDZ

He's had a fair amount of luck but he's ran with it, so fair play to him.

The best way to sum it up is the line earlier in the thread about 'earning millions out of a career worth thousands' :TU:

He should thank Eddie Hearn everyday. I'm no fan of promoters but the job done with Bellew is the stuff of legend. Hats off to them all.

He might have been able to achieve it without the fake persona and silly act, but extremely unlikely. I prefer people with a bit more substance. He seems a nice bloke away from all that bollocks though.

Agree on all points, I basically like him and try to ignore the bollocks, kindof like Fury

There is a lot to admire about Bellew...but his "wife and kids" routine rivals Froch and 80,000 at Wembley stadium!

Nothing deluded about Bellew at all, he just wants another big payday. He's fully aware of his limitations, he knows what a semi-fit Haye would do to him and he knows what would happen if he faced Usyk and Breidis, the Haye fight was already meant to be his big cash out but now with the "win" he has another opportunity. He got Haye's name on his resume and that makes him a credible opponent by Wilder's standards.

The lads just selling himself, he's done alright so far. Take it with a pinch of salt, it is quite entertaining though, good luck to him.

I honestly think he'd have a good chance of beating Parker, as would the top guys still at CW.

He was generally very friendly when he posted here, and opinion seems positive with respect to how he interacts with fans at events.

I think he's probably a nice guy deep down, and the positive interaction I had with him on this site has been enough to prevent me from disliking him.

Tony is a great lad. A few days after winning the world title he was at his old amateur club boxing show giving out trophys and speaking to all the kids he had time for everybody. Also having sparred many rounds with my fighter ( courtney fry ) he is always courteous and sportsmanlike . The easy take on this site seems to be very anti liverpool and if he was an asian and recieved so much abuse it would be considered racist. Yes he comes across a certain way on tv but his true persona is very far from that. He could have been on holiday a few days after he won his world title yet chose to stay at home and hand trophys out to the kids from his amateur gym . I dont think that sounds like a big mouth egotystical maniac to me ??

I think he's had a fairytale career and good luck to him. And out of all the boxers that SKY hires to do colour/commentary, he's probably the most bearable.

There must be a fair few fighters now that have their financial future secured, directly or indirectly, because of Hearn (and of course their own efforts). This is a good thing, but I'd like to see the money filter down to small hall a bit more.

That's not true, is it? Tyson Fury comes for as much abuse and he isn't a scouser, I don't think that has any bearing on it at all to be honest.

Scousers aren't a race by the way, any abuse towards Liverpudlians cannot be compared to racist abuse towards Asians.

A Scouser can't help being a Scouser. An Asian can't help being an Asian.

What's the difference?
