100% agree, but the WBC are not on their own. I mean Parker is just about to fight Cojanu for the WBO. Granted a late replacement for Hughie, but how on earth is he in the WBO top 15? All governing bodies have their own embarrassing group of hopeless potential world title challengers.

You're right of course but the problem the governing bodies have is that once you take out the Champions and the #1 contenders for the other belts (which most of them do) it's really quite hard to put together a list of 15 good heavyweights!

Parker won every round very comfortably, and Cojanu had a point deducted in one of the middle rounds. Should have been 120-107.

The disappointment was that Parker couldn't really load up on him and get him out of there. I think question marks over his power and timing are starting to be asked.

Hypothetically, if another fighter were to KO Wlad and Ortiz, could they be voted up to champ, or is there a 'beat the champ to become the champ' requirement once the spot is filled?

Hypothetically yes, it could happen - there isn't a 'beat the champ t become the champ' requirement - Wlad wasn't champ when Joshua beat him. I wondered if anyone would notice - I was 60:40 in favour of having Joshua at #1 rather than champ, but I'd be lying if I said the 10:10 tie wasn't a factor in me changing my vote.

Down as far as Takam it is really solid but from 8-15 none of those fighters are really deserving and in fairness there is no one else outside of those who absolutely stakes a top 10 place. It really is a dire set of heavyweights at the moment, the only real fights are the unifications, don't really think Takam is worthy of a shot and with Povetkin perhaps suspended it looks grim.

I have the opposite perspective. There are a sh!tload of good fights to be made on that list as well as including some of the next ten or twenty HWs.

How about Whyte v Takam and Fury v Ruiz Jr. on the same card in the UK? Maybe throw in Chisora v Breazeale. I would love a card like that. Start ferreting out who belongs and who does not.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gerald Washington v Ruiz Jr. on the 3G v GingerHead undercard. Actually, Ruiz Jr. v anybody below Parker on that list would work on that undercard.
