Yes, he has been mismanaged in the last couple of years. Maybe he should sue Haymon too.

He hasn't fought a decent opponent in 2 years. Just recently, they screwed up negotiations with Barrera.

Its really sad to see a fighter with so much potential have his career almost over without getting off the ground, I guess bad luck of injury and bad luck of not being matched well has led him to this place in the world.

Like a lot of Eastern Europeans Beterbiev has been screwed over big time... He's in Ward's division and he's an extremely dangerous fighter... The kind of opponents he's had and the kind of fights they've put up he could fight 1 of these guys every week.. Fans don't understand this.. When you're in the amateurs in a tournament you might have 4 or 5 fights in a week.. They're all 3 rounds and it's not that tough -- because if you're a well conditioned, well trained, highly skilled athlete your body actually needs the competition and craves action.

You're involved with competitive sparring when you're not fighting.. Many times a sparring match can be tougher than a fight though you're not supposed to kick it up that high -- if you're sparring an attacker your competitive juices get going.. It's no fun to take a hard shot but if you're boxing really well it's tons of fun to block, parry, slip, duck, roll, everything coming at you and counter like a master.. The problem is you won't be very masterful without the fights you need.. The fights get you the money... The money gets you the right sparring and everything else you need to be one of the best in the world.

Beterbiev has been a professional for 4 years -- 48 months.. Mike Tyson had 28 fights and the World Heavyweight Title 18 months after he turned pro.. Tyson was managed and matched brilliantly in the beginning.. It's hard to imagine anybody doing better.. If Mike had the right mindset he could have turned it up from there because the money was pouring in like crazy.. Joshua puts a ton of his money right back into his career and he's been managed intelligently as well.. Beterbiev hasn't.. They''ve done a disastrous job of managing him.. He's just waiting, waiting, waiting, and waiting forever and ever for a decent fight.
