warrington is no puncher but he is strong and busy (very busy) and targets the body heavily, can see kiko being stopped/retired late onboxingknockout wrote:Does anyone see value in Kiko Martinez? Yes he seems to have been around forever, and despite looking 45 is only 31... he can punch and Warrington has only 5 Kos in 24 fights. I've never seen Warrington (to my memory) so not sure how good he is. Martinez hasn't won a big fight since 2014 so maybe he's shot....
But you can get 9-1 on him.... is it worth a fiver? Anyone seen him fight? Cheers

Actually you are right. He has perspectives somehow. But at the same level. I think he can do much more interesting competitive fights, after he wins dickens. And if he looses, he will never see regaundeaux, for example, or rey vargas. So he need to win I guessozzy1875 wrote:Hang on, not too sure on that. A loss at 23 isn't going to kill his career. James DeGale lost to George Groves early in his career and Anthony Crolla lost to Yousef Al Hamidi.dams wrote:Yep, he is 23. But Jazza already has loses in this division and no future there. Quick question on Ward as I know little about him. How is losing the end of his career? He's very young isn't he?
Not disputing Ward isn't value but I'm not having it's the end of the road and a must win for him

Renald Garrido 6/1 win and 13/1 k.o against Gavin. Garrido is coming to win and is always a handful. Generous odds me thinks.

I thought that - he's no superstar but is EBU Champ and has beaten one or two half decent fighters.littlepug wrote:worth a punt with gavin involved, also 11-2 for the guy eggington is boxing had a peek at his record and a look on youtube and he seems pretty decentThe Insider wrote:Renald Garrido 6/1 win and 13/1 k.o against Gavin. I was hoping that Chavez Jr. would at least try to fight against a vastly superior Canelo Alvarez , but he was content to use his size and skills to avoid engaging and not get stopped. The Alvarez UD prop was money, wish I went bigger on it. I got a little too enthusiastic about those big + numbers on Chavez Jr., but I'm not all all worried about one of the few losing weeks I have had this year.

Re: Betting thread
Warrington is not a huge puncher and hasn't been super impressive to me. That said he's the rightful favorite against a possibly fading Martinez. But Martinez does have some pop when he is on and might have one more good win in him. So I couldn't resist a much better price of +1500 on Martinez.boxingknockout wrote:Does anyone see value in Kiko Martinez? I love your transparency and data in this thread, sorry for that loss, but any bettor knows it's a long term game and the year on year performance is what's important.JimGunn wrote:I was hoping that Chavez Jr. would at least try to fight against a vastly superior Canelo Alvarez , but he was content to use his size and skills to avoid engaging and not get stopped. I went a bit accumulator crazy last 2 months. I have to do some maths to see if I'm still in the black.
It's so important to the serious bettor to keep track of all bets. Best of luck for this week - apart from an acca, I'm going for dogs without a lot of confidence so small bets only.
Martinez 10.0
Mendoza 10.0
Ward 3.0
Rodriguez 6.5
Garrido 5.0
Good luck all
Re: Betting thread
"Warrington PTS" is one of boxing's great certainties almost any time he fights.
Re: Betting thread
I really fancy Martinez on Saturday at 7/1 he only really loses to top guys and I don't rate Warrington.

Re: Betting thread
Philip Sutcliffe is 5/6 against Leather. Justified favorite but I'd have him shorter than this.
Re: Betting thread
If we were talking about the Kiko that fought Frampton and beat Hasegawa 3/4 years ago I'd agree, but I think he's well on the slide now. Taken out in 2 by Quigg and drew with a 28-17-2 journeyman in his next fight. Warrington points for me - surprised that some have it as good as evens.forestbox wrote:I really fancy Martinez on Saturday at 7/1 he only really loses to top guys and I don't rate Warrington.

Not in his last fight where he stopped Patrick Hyland.Stuffs wrote:"Warrington PTS" is one of boxing's great certainties almost any time he fights.

Yeah I fancy Sutcliffe Jr there I'm going to wait to see the stoppage odds and see if there is value in playing thatThe Insider wrote:Philip Sutcliffe is 5/6 against Leather. Justified favorite but I'd have him shorter than this.

Don't worry mate im just kidding, I think it will probably go points too tbh but I'm never certain with boxing because I've seen how quickly things can change in a fight like a cut or freak injury etc lol.Stuffs wrote:True. not really surprised, its hard to put any faith in Frankie these daysThe Insider wrote:Garrido has been hammered into 7/2 from 6/1.
Re: Betting thread
There's talk Gavin is going to be coming in at 149, Garrido is no nonsense and will bulldoze forward for each second of the round. This is a winnable fight for Garrido in my opinion.littlepug wrote:not really surprised, its hard to put any faith in Frankie these daysThe Insider wrote:Garrido has been hammered into 7/2 from 6/1.
Re: Betting thread
Tommy Ward is a fine price tomorrow. 9/4 when the fight was announced it seems all the dough has been for him (bet365 are now 6/4). Still waiting for fight outcome prices but I've been nibbling that Ward price since January. Can't wait.
