Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
I think that Fury (healthy/fit/in shape version) is the most dangerous potential opponent for Anthony Joshua. It might be a very competitve match.
There are two basicly different styles (strength/size against skills/size). Do you agree ?

The biggest variable is the IF for being in shape, drug free and mentally on it.
Assuming that he is all of those thing, the fights dangerous in the sense it's a hard fight. Not so dangerous in the terms of him getting battered and hurt

If Anthony was a kebab, then yes.
Both Wilder and Fury are, for different reasons

Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
Any guy that's as big as Fury is can be a difficult mark, but Joshua would be the heavy favorite in my eyes. He's a much better conditioned, and much more focused athlete. A fight between AJ and Fury would be big though, to be honest I wouldn't be shocked to see Fury lose a fight prior to being able to put together a big fight with Joshua because obviously he wouldn't just go straight into the megafight upon returning.
Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
That is a gigantic if.
Until further notice, The Traveling Coke Troll poses the same risk to AJ as he does to every living thing that is in his vicinity; he could trip waddling down the street making social media vids and splat them.

Nah, he doesn't, Wilder can't KO guys like Povetkin, AJ, Wach, no matter how hard he hits, he's simply not powerful enough.ValMar wrote:Wilder has a puncher's chance.asdfjkl wrote:To me, he's the only one who actually has a chance.

Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
Course he's dangerous. Look what he done to Wlad. He's the Lineal Heavyweight champion man!
Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
Fury is really hard to beat. He boxes both stances, he's huge, fast, awkward. He can have it or box. He'd be a nightmare for anyone, not just Wlad
Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
Tyson Fury at his previous best? He's a big guy who was a pretty good boxer, so sure some danger there, but the danger is more Fury winning a decision than a knockout. Wlad hits harder than Fury, and Joshua got thru that (barely). But I'd still favor Joshua over Fury at his best, and who knows if Fury will ever fight or fight well again.
Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
Dangerous in the sense that he's splatter him? No.
Dangerous in the sense of his unbeaten record? Yes.
Whether or not Fury can clean people out, he's still an awkward, rangy boxer who jabs and moves very well. I still think it will be too difficult for Fury to keep Joshua off for 12 rounds. He managed that feat against a negative/defensive Klitschko, but Joshua is an offensive beast. He'll be looking to close down the range quickly, put it on Fury, and back him up on the ropes. He's going to get clocked eventually, and as we've found, Fury's not got the most granite of chins. He'll go down. The question is, how many times, and does he get back up when he's hurt?

To me yes, his 2 biggest challenges are a fit Fury and Vlad in a rematch, he smokes all the rest .
Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
Let's see him start smoking then. Fury is mush and Wlad is on the final countdown.Nightmare Roy wrote:To me yes, his 2 biggest challenges are a fit Fury and Vlad in a rematch, he smokes all the rest .
Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
Wilder is much more dangerous than Fury. That exhibition of Dancing with the Stars he did with Wlad would not be allowed against AJ or in a rematch with Wlad. Wilder throws hard punches and whilst AJ showed he has a reasonable chin against Wlad IF Wilder lands like that it will be interesting to see how AJ recovers.
Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
I think people are taking the Klitschko-Fury fight and saying, "Wow.. Fury had a very easy time with Klitschko, won almost every round, and didn't get hit with crap the whole 12 rounds.. He's a great defender.. Joshua struggled like a SOB against a much older and ring rusted Klitschko and got the shiitt beaten out of him." ... That's true.. AJ took some really hard shots that raised some brutal welts on his face.. Fury looked clean.ValMar wrote:I think that Fury (healthy/fit/in shape version) is the most dangerous potential opponent for Anthony Joshua. It might be a very competitve match.

However Joshua's style is made for Klitschko.. He's tall, aggressive, orthodox, loads up at times, and he lacks experience.. He's a much more athletic, skilled, smarter, and tougher version of Ray Austin, Jameel McCline, and Derrick Jefferson.. Those guys weren't too tricky or defensive, and you knew what they were going to throw.. They gave you a lot to work off of.. They never had a chance with Wlad because they were right in his wheel house.
AJ does everything very well, but he's as orthodox as you can get.. He does the kind of things Wlad has been practicing for for 30 years.. so it's not surprising he found a lot of holes.. Fury was a different animal than Wlad ever met.. His vast experience was useless against Fury.. He needed to cut off the ring.. He needed to attack well.. He needed to go to the body hard with both hands.. He needed to throw combinations.. and he needed to FIGHT.. Wlad is not a fighter.. He can't cut the ring off.. He has no body attack.. He can't go get you.. He doesn't throw sustained combinations.. He's an ATG at what he does -- but he can't fight a style like Tyson Fury's who's much taller with super long arms -- is more versatile and is a mover as well.
AJ has a style that's trouble for Fury.. Joshua is on you.. He's tracking you down.. He's throwing punches.. He's belaboring your body.. he's getting close and moving his hands.. If if you're hurt forget it.. He finishes you off like the last slice of pizza.. It's not going to be easy.. In my view Fury is a great Heavyweight and has the potential to be recognized as a great Heavyweight.. I don't think he ever will be.. I think he's another Buster Douglas.
Re: Is Tyson Fury dangerous for Anthony Joshua ?
This is really difficult. I think Fury is being overated because Klitschko didn't throw a punch or show up until the 12th round. I don't think he's as good as everyone thinks, but he is very awkward and is big. Really difficult to gage based just on the Klitschko fight.
If you then take into consideration his weight, mental, PED and coke issues, we really can't say how he will return.
Too many anomalies to really say for sure, but we will know soon enough after Fury has a fight. He has to get passed UKDA first, which from what I hear more of a problem than it's being reported as. The Furys claim that their postive tests are due to eating a whole boar, which was pumped with steroids. Contodor used the same excuse (not a boar) and was banned for 2 years.
