I like watching him tbh. He's fun to watch but seems more interested in talking about who he's going to fight and what he's going to do than actually fighting.

What's happening with him? Does anyone care

Re: Eubank Jnr
Eubank is one of those talk first boxers
Re: Eubank Jnr
I for one, don't really care tbh
Granted, he is exciting to watch, but all the other sh*t surrounding him & his team ruin it so F him
He's sh*t talk isn't sharp talking PR that gets him anywhere either
It's just divvy talk that makes people disinterested in him
A few training videos & sparring sessions with people who barely throw back aren't enough to drum up interest for me, he's wasting valuable time & lets have it real it's not like he is a complete boxer is he, he's got plenty to work on & pounding a bag in the gym grunting & screaming isn't going to help him one bit
Needs to be fighting properly

Re: Eubank Jnr
I agree, he has a lot going for him as a fighter. There's too much hype and meaningless talk around him though. I've lost interest in Chris now. Having said that, if he signs for a big fight I'll be interested. I'm just not waiting for it to happen though.Stuarty30 wrote:What's happening with him? Does anyone care![]()

If he was relevant and active, I would care a lot more.
Re: Eubank Jnr
If Chris signs for a bit fight he'll get beat
He more or less had his "big fight" penned in with GGG
But he knew he'd get mullered so backed out
Jnr doesn't seem interested in any realistic & meaningful fights
Just a Twitter poster & from what I hear loves a video of himself being put on Snapchat
Basically just a Gym Fighter at this point, pointless, needs to show us something

Re: Eubank Jnr
It seems so long ago he first debuted on Channel 5. Problem is for quite a few years, Chris and his team have been calling out all the top fighters and then nothing comes of it and people get bored. The other problem is when he actually did fight a top fighter in BJS he lost.
So personally I don't have much interest in him.

I'm also not interested in him until he fights someone decent and gives them a chance to win his 100% legitimate world championship.

To be honest, with all the other fights that have been on lately and the ones still to take place soon i had forgotten about Jr,i can't even remember when his last fight was,i do like watching him though if only to see him beaten.
Re: Eubank Jnr
I think the ITV PPV thing was deeply misguided. It failed badly and has all but been forgotten about.
Promotion has cost him. In late 2015 he was on Joshua undercards at big venues in good fights. It was the perfect response to the Saunders loss and looked set to push him into the rematch, which in fairness was probably deserved. Just became far too big for his boots, or at least his team did. When I first heard him v Quinlan was a PPV headliner I honestly assumed it was a shit joke.

I read the other day that Mundine was a possible opponent, maybe Jr wants to take over Australian boxing

I think it was mentioned in one of Kugans vids this week, either with warren or Hearn, think they said ITV PPV again, pish if true.handsofstone wrote:I read the other day that Mundine was a possible opponent, maybe Jr wants to take over Australian boxing
Re: Eubank Jnr
Very frustrating situation. Clearly has potential to mix it up in the 160 division. To a lesser extent 168.
The management and advice he's getting has been really poor. To miss the golovkin fight is a big thing to miss. I know he's big underdog, but he may never get the chance to fight and beat a guy that good again.
He conducts himself likes he's the divisional champ and p4p material, but he's fighting domestic level opponents. He should be around in his best years now, be a shame to waste them.
Rematch Saunders
Fight Jacobs
Fight ggg after he beats canelo
Fight canelo
Move up to 168 and go again
Lots of opportunities if he wants them and is reasonable

Agree with the post re: him being onto a winner with the Joshua undercards. Hearn seemed to have him and his Dad being tits slide and looked set to be giving him good opportunities on big cards. IIRC he even ended up headlining a Sky show when Brook pulled out with an injury. Needless to say they've fcked that up after the Golovkin saga. Seems completely content to talk the talk on social media but not fight anyone of note.
Chris Eubank Jr in the last 12 months:
Called out - Gennady Golovkin, Billy Joe Saunders, James DeGale, Andre Ward, Tony Bellew (5 world champions across 4 different weights (5 if you include Bellew at HW!))
Actually fought - Tom Doran, Renold Quinlan

Mundine would love that IBO belt so he can tell everyone he's reclaimed the Super-Middleweight crown after all these years...handsofstone wrote:I read the other day that Mundine was a possible opponent, maybe Jr wants to take over Australian boxing
Re: Eubank Jnr
His old man was out every month wernt he?
Re: Eubank Jnr
Jr will just add decent names to the list of fighters he avoided just like his dad did.
As poster have said he had a decent gig at matchroom on Joshua undercards.
When it came to the crunch he shat it

Re: Eubank Jnr
He wasnt very impressive in the Quinlan fight at all he showed lots of sloppyness that will need work to mix at the very top. Personally im bored of him hes become irrelevant untill he fights and who will promote that?
Re: Eubank Jnr
On the one hand Eubank Snr undoubtedly boosted his career and opened doors. But now it seems his father is seriously holding him back. Eubank Snr must be a nightmare for promoters to work with .
Re: Eubank Jnr
Too be honest i'm not so sure he would beat Mundine , If Mundine was focused like he was for the last Green fight ,, at the higher weight Mundine certainly proved he was strong enough
Re: Eubank Jnr
People will want to promote him. He's an entertaining fighter and could easily become a love to hate like guy similar to his father. The Eubank name goes a fair way. Yes he talks nonsense, but he could do good business in a way someone like Saunders (no name, no fans, not much pop, what little fans he has are dickheads, fights in leisure centres) never will.mansy wrote:He wasnt very impressive in the Quinlan fight at all he showed lots of sloppyness that will need work to mix at the very top. But his team are clearly a joke in business terms. People can take Hearn or leave him, but when he says Eubank Snr demanded heaven and earth I believe him. He's done Joshua and Froch at Wembley, Brook and Bellew at football stadiums and got Scott Quigg and Nathan Cleverly fights onto PPV. He can do business and he's laughing at Eubank? You have to ask questions why.

Green was utter dog shìt in that fight though. That was PPV in Oz as wellconeye wrote:Too be honest i'm not so sure he would beat Mundine , If Mundine was focused like he was for the last Green fight ,, at the higher weight Mundine certainly proved he was strong enough
Re: Eubank Jnr
His last fight suggests he has excellent stamina, a solid chin, but almost certainly lacks pop at the highest, elite level.
He can wear opponents down with speedy combinations and the sheer accumulation of punches, but the top tier aren't going to let him stand there and do just that. It just won't work out for him.
Deep down I think he and his team know this, hence we'll see an endless array of British, European and fringe world level opponents over the next few years for Jnr..... whilst being treated to the occasional IFLTV interview with him explaining how DeGale, GGG and Jacobs etc are running scared...

As much as Hearns tells lies all the time. There is no reason for him to lie about the Eubanks with the GGG fight.Rob3_142 wrote:100% agree with this.dirk2686 wrote:People will want to promote him. Hearn had nothing to lose in that fight. If Eubank pulled off the upset he has a new star on sky and made the money of the PPV even if Eubank left anyway. If Eubank lost then it was a fighter he had invested a lot in like Kell Brook.
He genuinely had empathy for allegedly when discussing it.
Jokes the pair of them if they fight again I'm not bothered if they don't then I won't miss either jr or Sr. I only paid attention to the last one because the undercard was ok.
