The lack of English hasn't helped, but lackluster showing do more damage. There was plenty of excitement when he bombed out Jennings....

I thought Golden Boy seemed to be doing well with him. They had him on HBO regularly, got him a career best opponent, and were keeping him active after his PED suspension.

I think the reason he leaved Golden boy was due to the lack of Heavyweights they have under contract, especially world champions. That combined with Wilder being with Haymon and Joshua being with Hearn and so on and so forth. I'm guessing thats the main reason he left.

Ya, that may well be the reason, but his career has lost steam since he left them, and he got his WBA mandatory spot without having to face any Haymon guys. Being with Al should make Wilder more of a possibility, though I can easily see that fight not happening.

Yeah. Hopefully he gets a shot at one of the main players before he retires.

I can see AJ being fully booked up for another year at least.

The Wlad rematch, Pulev mandatory, talk of Vitali, talk of Fury, talk of Wilder ... Ortiz is well down the list.

Ortiz needs to get to Parker or take another big fight to get in the mix. The fight makes little sense at the minute.

Vitali isn't coming back. He's already said he'll only come back to fight Lewis.

Did you just say 'talk of Vitali'? That's quite possibly the most hilarious thing I've ever heard!

In Hearn's last interview he indicated that Ortiz stunk the joint out on his two performances on his shows, one of which he was headlining. I think to some degree that has put the knife in his Matchroom career, coupled to the fact he was hard to match. Had he continued the flow of blitzing his men out, then maybe we'd be talking about him in the same sentence as Joshua, but he didn't, and that's the end of that. I think it was stated that Ortiz had only signed a 2-fight deal, in which he failed to impress.

Pulev is pretty much as good as Ortiz.

Nothing wrong with Joshua vs Pulev.

I want to see Joshua vs Pulev.

Ortiz and all the rest really needed to get at Joshua pre Wlad or as soon as possible, he's going to be improving.

He was given a platform to perform in front of the UK fans and handed on a plate two highlight reel KO's to build himself as an opponent for AJ and he made nothing of the opportunity at all. Amazing really when I heard Hearn had signed him I couldn't believe it: it really looked like we would get AJ vs Ortiz. He only has himself to blame.

Pulev is a good fighter and if AJ rematches Wlad then fights the Bulgarian I don't think you can accuse him of ducking anybody to be honest.

Yes, it was the worst fight ver and Scott should have been DQ BUT... in the same circumstances, AJ, Wilder, Klit would've KOd him

I think AJ would KO Ortiz but he'd probably need to show a certain degree of patience. Ortiz has a good boxing IQ and would be looking to set traps and I wouldn't be surprised to see AJ walk in to one. AJ has shown he has an decent chin and pretty good powers of recovery so AJ between 7-9 for me after a tricky/slow start.

Different styles though, what i like about Ortiz is his ability to fight on the inside and get close. Klitchko couldn't take out jennings for instance, but Ortiz did. I don't see the Scott fight as being a reflection of Ortiz's ability.

I think Scott ran for twelve rounds the worst case of refusing to fight I have ever seen, and was still knocked down a few times while on the run.. I don't think anyone would have stopped Scott in that fight on that night.. he just refused to fight full stop.. Ortiz is the most dangerous hw you can stand and trade with, he would destroy any hw that has the balls to stand and fight with him, that's why he's the most avoided hw on the planet and he's nearly 40.. aj, wilder, Parker, all shook to death and won't be fighting ortiz anytime soon.

Styles make fights! We all know this!

AJ KO's Klitschko after getting floored himself, Fury wins on points, without really getting in a fight, Jennings is given the beatdown by Ortiz, but drags Klitschko to points.

The difference between someone who comes to fight and someone that comes to run is not to be underestimated.
