You have pretty crazy standards then. He is overrated historically by some but he was top 3 in a division for a decade.

Not sure if he was Michael's or Leon's. Either way, I guess that qualifies.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Was Cory Leon's son?Impractical Poster wrote:Interesting!

Re: Tim TSZYU Makes it 4-0
John David Jackson's son fought for a world title last year, Ronald Hearns also fought Sturm for a world title a few years back, neither John Jackson or Ronald Hearns are elite though nor even world class
Re: Tim TSZYU Makes it 4-0
Chavez Jr. has actually done very well considering how most fighting sons end up.

He was also considered p4p top 10 for a while and was ring p4p #3 at one point. Not in the 100 greatest boxers ever, but definitely elite.Wales wrote:Agree mateSaadOffTheDeck wrote:You have pretty crazy standards then. I've seen a few of Tszyu's fights...being an aussie. Nice neat precise puncher. Fights like a slower version of his dad (no disrespect, fourth fight in) with the sharp jab, straight and left H with his hand out in front. Will be interesting to see how he goes. I'm not so convinced on his power at the moment but we have been spoiled in the middleweight division lately. Still, very precise, clean punches as i said. I wonder how he'll handle a forward moving fast hooker.
Re: Tim TSZYU Makes it 4-0
Of course he was. First person to unify or be undisputed champion at 140 in century.Riddick Blowe wrote:I don't think tszyu was elite. He was good though.

His win against Forrest in the Olympics is the best I've ever seen in an amateur ring, one of my favourites in any ring actually, he was incredible.
Re: Tim TSZYU Makes it 4-0
I agree. Was it the Olympics or Worlds? I didn't think Tszyu went to Olympics? Doesn't matter though, that performance was explosive and he made Forrest look like an idiot.Counter-puncher wrote:His win against Forrest in the Olympics is the best I've ever seen in an amateur ring, one of my favourites in any ring actually, he was incredible.

It was how easily he anticipated Forrest's punches. He could draw a lead slip and counter, or lead then slip the counter and fire back, it was uncanny Forest was a good fighter throwing everything all his skills and ability into it, and he's like a split second behind in everything he does.
