Pretty sure the WBC always rank the EBU champ in their top 15.

Paulie's been stopped like 4 or 5 times.
I clearly heard it but still could not believe it. :D
Fairness sake though these guys usually do a good job researching fighters records.

My understanding is that EU champ is allowed to challenge for World title.

What a war of a round that was. Champ barely survives 7th.

Cheers, you're right, just checked on their site, Rodriguez is ranked 12. Eggington was 11 before this fight.

Watching both cards

The referee would have stopped the Eggington fight on the Leeds card, at no point did he look like jumping in at any point

One of the best refs in Europe from what I've seen in the past

Surprising and sudden end, right as it looked like Rodriguez was getting himself back into the fight a little

Eggy had to win to stay on course to keep his promise to Paulie Malignaggi that he would win a world title. I think it's accurate - unlike the commentary earlier - what Paulie said that he had only lost to world champions before Egg. It wouldn't do to let Paulie down.

Brutal finish from Eggington there. He really is great to watch. All action. Him and Jamie Conlon must be two of the most exciting domestic fighters going just now!

I'm watching both cards which isn't feckin easy!
