Stopped Sutcliffe in a terrible, terrible stoppagebripez wrote:What happened?
Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
Had paused it so was watching on a delay. That was fuckin shocking! Good shots by Leather but really bad refereeing. Was enjoying that fight there. Leather looks good. Makes mistakes and is a bit open to the right hand which he'll need to improve on as he moves up in levels.
Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
i thought that it was a little early as well. werent one way traffic eitherBoxing Prospect wrote:Stopped Sutcliffe in a terrible, terrible stoppagebripez wrote:What happened?

Was worse than his balls up in the first Froch v Groves fight IMO.brilo33 wrote:i thought that it was a little early as well. werent one way traffic eitherBoxing Prospect wrote:Stopped Sutcliffe in a terrible, terrible stoppagebripez wrote:What happened?

Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
Still in shock. Not much made of it as home fighter won but that was the worst I have ever ever seen
Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
Fair play to Sutcliffe. Came across very respectful in the post fight interview.
Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
i liked the look of josh leather ,think that was the first ive seen of him
Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
He looks a talented lad. Another good addition to the 140 domestic scene. Some talent we've got in that division at the moment!brilo33 wrote:i liked the look of josh leather ,think that was the first ive seen of him
Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)

That was a lot worse than Froch/Groves 1, one of the strangest stoppages ive ever seen, let himself down there Foster, that was a good close fight

I can't recall ever seeing a stoppage worse than that.

Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
It was a bad one. At least on a par with IJL's stoppage of Enzo against Ovil
Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
Haven't seen it but it must be terrible to be worse than the groves stoppage.
Foster and O'Connor really don't cut it imo

Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
Foster is one of those refs who enjoys the spotlight and wants to be the star of the show. A total pudendum who loves to melodramatically end a fight with an exaggerated wave of the hands.....handsofstone wrote:That was a lot worse than Froch/Groves 1, one of the strangest stoppages ive ever seen, let himself down there Foster, that was a good close fight
Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
Sporting reaction by Sutcliffe though, fair play to him

Abysmal stoppage.
Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
He was spoiling a really good fight, even before the stoppage, by constantly stopping the action to issue petty warnings.

Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
Feel a bit sorry for Howard. He's a good compassionate ref but a couple of times his timings been off, stopping it a bit too early. The high-profile Groves fight and this one too; but to be fair he's not guilty of the worst crimes for a referee, Perceived corruption and of course, stopping a fight too late.
Sutcliffe had taken some brain jarring punches and HF was obviously worried for him, should have waited a bit longer, though Sutcliffe would've probably suffered a bad knock out there.
Outgunned by the excellent looking leather, who showed a very good chin and a very good power too. Definitely a prospect to watch

Re: Howard Foster (spoilers)
I'm just watching the show now.
Not got to the Sutcliffe vs Leather fight
But even in the Nicola Adams fight, Foster was hasty.
Adams was landing a lot and going for it but Salazar wasn't significantly hurt, was moving and ducking and throwing plenty of shots back. I'd have been raging getting stopped there
