whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
this fight is off, as Eddie now wants Parker vs whyte
disgraceful by Eddie who moans about khan ducking brook (for bigger fights) now hearn doing the same
joke will be on matchroom, as wach would have beaten whyte, and as poor as parker was in his last fight, cant wait to see him spark out whyte
if whyte wasnt with matchroom or british, he's be seen as a gatekeeper and not "world class" in an awfully weak HW division

Rumours also about Chisora/Helenius possibly being off, if that is the case it would be a short price for Whyte/Chisora 2 and the winner facing Parker I am guessing.
Re: whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
Bad drills if a fights been agreed to let a guy down
I'm not a Whyte fan but can't call him a gatekeeper really. He's a prospect on the way up. A gatekeeper is normally a guy whose been at the top and is on the way down but fighting on, like zab Judah became at 147 eventually, or a seasoned guy whose at a level but every time he steps up to the top level he gets beat. Becoming a stepping stone to prove yourself on world level
Whytes unproven basically

The card was depressingly crap anyway!

Ooft! Even by Sky's recent standards that card is an absolute stinker!Horse wrote:Yes.Stuarty30 wrote:The card was depressingly crap anyway!

Nobody is interested in Wach - it wasn't going to sell.
Smart move from Eddie who probably saw the writing on the wall with slow tickets and pulled the fight early rather then drag it out.

Why is it off? Did Eddie pull it on basis of low interest?
I was looking forward to Wach vs Whyte.

He's tried to feed us another god awful show and it's backfired. Fuckin prick that he is. I'm surprised Sky even OK'd this show to begin with.
Re: whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
I tweeted when this show was announced that it was awful and optimistic to have it at the o2 so no surprise it's off. Eddie gives it the big un about his shows selling well and there's no way he can make the o2 look half full.

How much does Copper Box hold?broomy7s wrote:I tweeted when this show was announced that it was awful and optimistic to have it at the o2 so no surprise it's off. Eddie gives it the big un about his shows selling well and there's no way he can make the o2 look half full.
He might be able to fill the ExCel Arena
Re: whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
All those 'TBA's. It's like the good old days.
Re: whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
Whyte shouldn't be headlining shows imo
Re: whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
Think they were only having half the venue open - similar to Warren shows at Manchester Arena.broomy7s wrote:I tweeted when this show was announced that it was awful and optimistic to have it at the o2 so no surprise it's off. If I was Wach I would be raging about people wasting my time. I hope he gets a decent payoff.
Re: whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
Likewise. All depends on what happens next. Fighters have had to delay due to injury forever basically; but there's a worrying trend of injury being used as an excuse for cancellation - or at least that's how it feels.Gnome wrote:If I was Wach I would be raging about people wasting my time. I can understand Haye effectively cancelling due to needing surgery. But Whyte's bad foot, Hughie's bad back and so on? Just stick back a few weeks surely?
Re: whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
In all honesty, there's only Joshua and at a push Bellew shows that sell out for Hearn. People just have this perception that every event he does sells out.broomy7s wrote:I tweeted when this show was announced that it was awful and optimistic to have it at the o2 so no surprise it's off. This year, McDonnell wasn't a sell out, the ECHO show was awful and sold barely any tickets, Birmingham didn't sell well either. Brook is selling well, think they're through 20k tickets which is an impressive achievement but prior to his Golovkin defeat, he struggled in Sheffield.
Re: whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
Bad to let Wach down like that but the fight wasn't a big seller
Re: whyte vs wach off! digrace by eddie
Yeh agree with that. Whyte and Buglioni was really pushing it as far as O2 Arena shows go. Both good solid undercard fighters or maybe headline at a 2-3000 venue, but certainly not O2 headliners.Ossyrules wrote:Whyte shouldn't be headlining shows imo

I thought that as soon as it was announced, even Eddie was never shifting that many tickets for this.TheCobra wrote:Yeh agree with that. But it's Whyte that pulled out. From the sounds Chisora Helenius is still going ahead it's just delayed for some vague reasons, I'm guessing it's just to get the venue they want or something.
