I tweeted when this show was announced that it was awful and optimistic to have it at the o2 so no surprise it's off. Eddie gives it the big un about his shows selling well and there's no way he can make the o2 look half full.

In all honesty, there's only Joshua and at a push Bellew shows that sell out for Hearn. People just have this perception that every event he does sells out.

This year, McDonnell wasn't a sell out, the ECHO show was awful and sold barely any tickets, Birmingham didn't sell well either. Brook is selling well, think they're through 20k tickets which is an impressive achievement but prior to his Golovkin defeat, he struggled in Sheffield.

True Birmingham had all the upper tier curtained off and probably a third of the hall. People slagged Warren off for the amount of people at the Manchester card recently but I was at both and guess Manchester had slightly more.

Promoters should look at using smaller sized arenas for these type shows rather than big ones but with half of it shut. Leicester (Langford Khurtsidze) was really good and always felt full even during the undercard. Great view from all over too.

Surprised Hearn went there with Yafai, hardly a ticket seller, understand its the homecoming but he isn't at the most glamorous of weights for the casual.

Agree, but, there's not always the smaller venues, I think FW should have gone to the Velodrome for the Flanagan fight, holds around 4k, would have been ideal and looked packed. Spot on about Leicester it looked great there, any idea of the attendance?

Leeds sold really well for Warrington and the Copperbox show has sold extremely well this weekend as well.

To be honest it's been promoted terribly. I didn't even know the tickets were out. 02 isn't hard for me to get to at all and I wouldn't have minded seeing this fight: it's live boxing and a decent match up (I think Whyte might even have lost) so if I wasn't working that weekend I would have gone. I thought they normally did press conferences and stuff before the tickets came out? Other than hearing the fight had been made, there doesn't seem to have been any hype at all.

Makes you wonder whether they were serious about this one at any point ever?

To be honest Eggington was the main attraction a good 1k-2k probably left before or during the Yafai fight and the atmosphere flattened (very similar to Flanagan/Petrov after Williams/Smith) not that I see such things as important I was really enjoying the Yafai fight.

Attendance for Leicester was around 3.5k I think.

Glad to hear copperbox has sold really well it deserves too. Was sceptical as I've won tickets (gutted can't make it) again.

I was at the Echo show when Dodd drew with Cardle, arena emptied for the main event with was Smith Mouhamadi. In reality, excluding Wembley and Bramall Lane. Hearn's shows haven't sold that well at all, particularly this year. Told Copperbox has done really well for Saturday.
