Who should Sky use as commentators and pundits?

We all agree that Adam Smith is woeful as commentator. I'm not the biggest fan of Paul Smith as pundit or commentator. Coldwell annoys me too.

I can tolerate Froch. Bellew is OK when he's not talking about himself

I like Woodhall on commentary.

What's really lacking is someone who can carry it blow by blow like Ian Darke did. The americans have Lampley.

Malignaggi and woodhall are the best iv heard in the past 12 years

They used him a couple of times back in the 90's. He was commentating on a fight with Nicky Piper and his opening remarks were something along the lines of "This is for the WBO Intercontinental Title. I've always wondered exactly what that is" Then Piper chimed in with "It's a false title created for television" Didn't see much of them after, funnily enough.

Adam Smith is a poor commentator who offers no expertise. Blow by blow announcers are allowed an opinion and criticise too. His fairly recent switch to growling out banalities is even more irritating. Ian Darke is the last of the old school masters but is only doing football these days. I was hoping with BT throwing their hat in the ring that he and Dempsey would be re-united. Woodhall has always been good. Barry Jones is quality.

I don't mind Froch or Bellew. Nelson seems like a good guy but him and Smith just remind me of dodgy used car salesmen from the 80's, they have no journalistic integrity because they are salesmen for Sky, not objective commentators.

Sky need to develop a commentator who can read a fight without a voice like a bag of spanners. Who that is I don't know. Then pair them with either Froch, Bellew or Jamie Moore.

The bodyshamer smith has quietly been exercising a genocide on older outdated pundits (watt,mcrory) and those who he doesnt like the look of (robinson)....the new world order of pundits is ....they must look and dress a certain way...ie the liverpudlian suited and booted grade 1 sides bouffant ...so the smiths,froch,bellew,barker all fit into that....and if u cant be that try to look likec eddie hearn....smith himself falls into the second category..as does david haye....he"s also installed a couple of ttits and aarse blondes ringside.......its all about (in alf garnett voice) appealing to yer casuals......its the new school versus franklyyn wwwarrens old school 1997 style presentation of bunce,hubbard ,colin hart,dempsey, with a smidgen of audley era bbc woodhall and macintosh....

Dave Allen excellent, the new BTBN team are great, thank god, cause the whole sky team are absolutely f***ing useless, a bunch of dreary suited and booted cheerleaders, singing for their supper.
And Adam Smith is absolutely THE F***ING WORST.

I really like Dave Allen and would love to see/hear more of him. However, the bloke predicted Joshua would get KO'd in the first couple of rounds against Wlad. Allen said (in the same interview) that he'd previously gambled all of his earnings away.

With his ability to read how a fight will go, I can see how he's had so much success

Surprised there's been no mention of the relatively new commentator, Andy Clarke. Only heard him a few times but was a refreshing change. First time I heard him he mentioned boxing that was on BN/BT, which the rest of the Sky team never do. Also told an interesting story about Sam Langford, and not in a Spencer Fearon "let me get this irrelevant information into the conversation to show off my knowledge" type of way.

I really like Andy Clarke really honest tells it how it is and I like how he mentions fighters with different promoters.Adam smith and co think there's no boxers expect for there's. I seen Dave Allen commentating on aj carter vs that polish journeymen who causes upsets and he was honest and said he wouldn't like to fight him because he can really punch.

He used to be honest, but more recently I felt Holdsworth has gone of the boil. I remember when shot to pieces Danny Williams got anhilated quite recently he was still chalking off the great wins of Danny's career like he was a meaningful world ranked heavyweight.... he even had the audacity to say an unlincenced that he had (I think it was against Dominic Negus) was very meaningful.

Richie Woodhall was almost apologetic as the expert... Holdsworth seemed geniunally shocked with how bad Williams was.

He just seems to use Boxrec these days - so would probably say Smith is quite deserving because he is on a good run chalking up 3 wins and going 9 rounds with Ward.

Sky desperately need a new head commentator. Smith has unaccountably morphed from a fairly decent one into a parody and he's far too in thrall to his co commentator and boxers in general.

The younger comms allow themselves to be dominated by the summarizer who is there to provide pithy insights at moments of drama and between rounds not drone on constantly throughout the round a la Bellew and Paulie.

One summarizer is sufficient. Having two just leads to endless sh1te cliches being trotted out by one which the other then parrots in agreement and the main comm barely gets a word in.

Why the fvck was Coldwell invited to join the team ? Bellew comes into the biggest fight of his life barely fit enough to throw a punch against a shot Haye who then injures himself badly enough for fat Tony to eventually grind out a win and in Sky's eyes this qualifies t shirt carrier Coldwell as an insightful analyst ? What the fvck.

Woodhall is top class, low key yet able to impart knowledge to casuals like myself in a non patronizing way.

Froch, if he would just be himself and not an excessively media trained monkey, could be OK. Sky have now clearly instructed the cobra to smile at the camera at regular intervals. This is comedy gold as Carl pulls his best rictus grin while his cold, unfeeling eyes betray the killer underneath

Ron Mac is a great comm in my eyes but I can understand how his runaway vocabulary may grate with some. Ian Darke is also first rate. Rawling is OK but again excessively in awe of boxers.

Agree huge mistake....but like I say they are going all out for this younger "casuals" market and they want pundits who have that look I mentioned....jimbo just doesn't..... he is more like a warrennn guy
