Terence Crawford vs Felix Diaz

Post by handsofstone »

This Saturday on allegedly, Crawford defending his WBC/WBO Super Lightweight titles against Diaz, I think this could be a tricky fight at times for Crawford, Diaz is a well schooled fighter, I haven't seen too much of him but I remember the Peterson loss being a close one which he might've won, Terence might have to be on his game

Crawford's skills are another level though and he has the experience now as well, he's a class act and one of my favourites, I remember I used to think he was quite boring but since beating Burns he's took his game to another level, last time out against Molina Jr he soaked up the constant pressure he brought and broke him down, Diaz will bring a bit more finesse than Molina so Crawford might have to use his brain, he's an excellent switch hitter and I imagine he'll try not to allow Diaz to get to grips with him by switching throughout again, I think this might go to points though with Crawford the comfortable winner

I think I've only seen Diaz the once against Peterson and thought he was hard done by tbh. Crawford is the goods though and I fancy him to get another impressive stoppage. Surely a move to 147 has to happen after this. Personally I don't think it's worth hanging around for the likes of Indongo.

Aye mate some cracking fights up at WW, maybe 5 or 6 quality match ups, I'd love to see all 4 titles unified though, Super Lightweight seems about as likely as any division to be able to do it, although I doubt it TBF, if he cant get Indongo then i'd like to see him move up as well

There's not really too many more options at 140 man is there? After Indongo it's difficult to see where he goes at 140. I'm a big Crawford fan but from a selfish point of view him moving up leaves the division wide open and we have a strong domestic scene at 140 and you'd fancy some of them to move on to world level sooner or later.

If Broner was arsed and in shape then him v Crawford would be good to see at 140 but that pricks a waste of space.

Mate even as a staunch Burns fan I don't want to see that lol. Wouldn't mind seeing him in with some of our up and coming talent tbh. I have a feeling they'll try and make the Taylor fight this year at some stage. If they do I'm def going to that one.

Broner's honestly not worth Crawford's time. A lot of lesser fighters than Crawford could beat Broner. Sam Eggington would beat Broner.

Probably a decent pay day for Crawford and a chance to punch AB! Would rather see him go to 147 after Diaz but being payed to punch Broner surely must appeal to most people!

I wouldn't put Eggington in with him just yet. He's still too crude to beat Broner at this stage. Eggington is what he is and he's never gonna be a Ray Leonard but a little bit of fine tuning, kind of similar to what Garcia done with Maidana, and I don't see why not.

I wouldn't put Eggington in with him just yet. He's still too crude to beat Briner at this stage. Eggington is what he is and he's never gonna be a Ray Leonard but a little bit of fine tuning, kind of similar to what Garcia done with Maidana, and I don't see why not.
I would have the utmost confidence that Eggington would beat Broner RIGHT NOW. Broner is overrated as hell, and Eggington's style is all wrong for him. Eggington would win. I'm very confident of that, and this isn't U.K. fanboy bluster. I'm an American saying that.

Doubt it mate. I'd be supporting him though. I can't stand that pudendum Broner and he is definitely overrated but I think people are getting a little carried away with Eggington. I'm a fan and I love watching him though.

What's the script with Broner just now anyway? Is he training? Anything lined up? Or is he just playing at being a thug

Awaiting a court case in all likelihood. The guy is always in some kind of legal trouble.

For the record I don't think much of Broner, and there's a LOT of fighters at 147 and 140 I'd favor to beat him. Not because Broner's not good enough to beat them, but because he doesn't take himself or his training seriously enough to get the best out of himself, and frankly the potential that people think Broner COULD'VE had has already passed him by in my opinion.

He's the new Zab Judah. People will always expect more out of him than he's ever able to deliver on.

Pretty much punch perfect from Crawford, broke down a very tough and game Diaz and I think it was a good call from Felix's corner to pull him out there, his eyes were swollen shut and he was starting to look like he was feeling the effect of Crawford's sharp accurate punches, uppercuts especially finding the target and you could tell he was starting to plant his feet more as the rounds went on and Diaz was wilting, give Diaz his dues though he was as strong as a bull and never stopped coming forward and did tag Crawford with some nice single shots but he just didn't have the speed to get the last word

Crawford was exceptional again, fought southpaw all night and really went through the gears and broke down a very good fighter in Diaz, I don't think there's any other fighters at 140 that would do that to Diaz, in fact i'd probably make Diaz favourite against most other guys in the division, better and better from Crawford, lets hope he fights Indongo next and we can have an actual undisputed champ for the first time in a long time

Another impressive performance from Crawford. Could have done without the showboating though, really not my cup of tea.

Shout out to Beltran as well - hell of a ko.

I see the clowning as TCraw's one weakness. He tends to smile (reminiscent of Hearns) when he gets rocked a bit and he goes into firefight mode. That happened in the 7th and a fighter with more lethal power may have been able to take advantage of his recklessness.

When he clowned late I believe that it was actually a show of frustration that he could not kill his mouse.

Broner is currently spending a few days in jail. However there are talks for him to fight Mikey Garcia. I just don't get it. Is Broner a big celeb over there, does he sell tickets? I can't understand what warrants all these chances when it has been clear for years he will never achieve any of the potential he showed back when he was knocking out tiny opponents. He's so unpleasant too so what more does the boxing industry need to ignore him.

The sublime Crawford looking near unbeatable lately, he needs a superfight and fast. Annoying we have to listen to that supreme numbskull BABOON Colonel Bob blathering away about a load of random bollox over all his fights ( GREAT referee folks, one of the best, I've know him years etc etc )

And Beltran is looking like a super human terminator lately, has he been training with Shannon Briggs ?
