Brook: Khan is a Media Whore, Likes To Get Done in For Money!

KELL BROOK has labelled Amir Khan a “media whore” who doesn’t mind getting “done in” for big money.

The Sheffield star is at his training camp in Fuerteventura preparing to defend his IBF welterweight title against American Errol Spence Jnr on May 27 at Bramall Lane.

Bitter rival Khan will be ringside at the home of Sheffield United working as a TV pundit.

But Brook showed no sympathy as he stuck the boot in on his foe over his family issues and career.

He said: “It’s comical. He is Amir Khadashian. He has so much drama around him, he is in the paper all the times for the wrong reasons. It’s all good, it’s funny.

“I have heard he is a bit skint and has problems with his dad. I am hearing his wife wants a big fancy house.”

Khan and Brook have so far failed to agree a deal for a fight that could be worth around £30m.

But the Bolton boxer came out last week and insisted he wants to get it on before the end of the year.

Brook said: “It’s annoying when he talks about me but that’s what he does. When (UFC star) Conor McGregor has something going on he starts telling the world he wants to fight him.

“He is a media whore, he wants it. I think he’s after a big-money fight and he knows he would get done in, but he doesn’t mind getting done in for money. I think he wants it.

“Maybe with these big fights that have been happening lately - Bellew vs Haye, Joshua vs Klitschko, Golovkin vs Canelo - fighters have the bit between their teeth now and want to step up and fight.

“I am sat here and I get asked questions about him all the time and does my head in. It grinds me. It’s just a fight that I don’t need an alarm on my phone to wake me up for. It would be a really fun fight to build and have.

“The paying public and the fans want to see it and I just want to give it to them. Will it happen? We have to wait and see.”

Kell has a mountain to climb next weekend. If he makes it then Khan can get to the back of the line. If he gets beaten then the Khan fight is there to fall back on. I think Brook sees Khan as easy money so even if he does win that's the fight he'll probably go for.

Khan has made this unduly obnoxious. Kell is a professional and so is Khan supposed to be. I don't mind orchestrated beef to sell a fight, but clearly here Khan just refuses to be fair and make this big money fight for all. I didn't think Brook won that fight and I have been vocal about that on here ever since. I accept I am in the minority though.

I felt he won closely but clearly but it was very ugly and he had to hold a lot against Porter.

I was really hoping he would've fought a couple of top ten welter names by now like Omar Chaves and Jessie Vargas and won with clean boxing and exciting combinations. But he pulled out of one and priced out of another.

Although he always turns up to work for those low calibre mandatories.

Thankfully this time the #1 contender is also an attractive opponent and hopefully Kell can put it together.

Kell does criticise Khan about money but as has been said, he took the Golovkin beating for the bigger money (though this might not have happened had Canelo and Khan fought, causing the wrong guys from the wrong weights from all facing one another) and was bailed out the moment Golovkin sustained an attack.

I would have liked to see Brook vs Canelo. I also would have liked to see how the GGG fight would have gone if he hadn't had the broken orbital. Regardless, both men stepped up for money making suicide missions, and talking shit about each other for the same basic thing seems a little ironic. I do want to see them fight.

However good/skilled/exciting he was Brook has more stock than Khan atm & is still relevant, whether Khan was up on the cards or not means nothing, he got sparked & sparked badly

Brook may of bin getting beat up & bashed all around the ring but he was never KO like that & gave a good account of himself, Khan gave a good account of himself but ended up getting slept & has done nothing but talk sh*t since, even spoke about the Brook fight he is clearly frightened to have whereas Brook is now in a decent fight & will stay relevant

Khan was always one shot from oblivion. He boxed well for 3-4 rounds but it was predictably futile.
Both were brave getting in the ring but that's as far as it goes for me. Both cashed in and that's it.

Can't believe that at 31 years of age, having been a pro 12 years and been regarded as world level for 4 years Brook is still giving b1tchy little interviews revealing his obsession with and jealousy of Khan's higher profile and better record.

Since beating Senchenko he should've been fighting at the top level but only twice has he mustered the courage to step outside his comfort zone and fight world class opponents. After a brave performance and worthy win against (superstar ???) Porter he reverted to type fighting journeymen. Then he got lucky and landed a shot to nothing vs GGG who he fought with no real ambition and was looking for a way out when his corner saved him.

The Spence fight is a real crossroads fight for him. If he loses I expect him to fabricate some false beef with the likes of Smith and Williams and revert to fighting 2nd tier opponents while still bitching about Khan.

Not many casuals really know who Brook is. It doesn't matter that most serious fans think Brook would beat Khan, the truth is that Khan has had a better career, achieved more, gained higher recognition and earned more.
