Re: Canelo/GGG in Sept. 2017
I'm not sure GGG will be old enough by then? The fight has already lost a hell of a lot for me. I have said that Canelo vs GGG will end up with a win by Canelo by decision. Two years ago even, I would have picked GGG by KO, but not now. GGG is actually a style that Canelo looks good against, but in his prime, GGG takes him out regardless. I think that time has passed.
Re: Canelo/GGG in Sept. 2017
People are factoring too much into the Jacobs fight..
Jacobs is HUGE for a Middleweight.. Bigger, taller, rangier, faster, and a better boxer and puncher than Canelo ... and with a higher work rate.. That KO loss to Pirog was so long ago I don't even factor it.. He had 12 straight KO wins coming into the Triple-G Fight.. Before the Quillin fight DJ said "Peter is undefeated and I lost a fight, but that loss made me a much better fighter. I learned how and why I got hit. Anytime I got hit well after that I learned how an why I was open. I grew as a fighter. Peter has grown too, but I have flourished. I feel I've done everything I possibly could."
GGG will crush Canelo.. Beating Jacobs was a big positive for GGG -- not the negative people are making it.. After GGG leaves the division in search of Ward and Kovalev, Canelo will have to deal with Jacobs.. That will be his 3rd defeat.. Canelo is a great fighter, but he's definitely overrated.. Chavez is a bum and he'll crush him the way he did Amir Khan.. Canelo's has a clever team of marketeers pushing his career.. They cherry-pick big names who have no skills or defense.. Cotto has a lot of skills and expertise, but he was so small in comparison to Canelo that he didn't have a chance.

If there has been anything consistent coming from Canelos side, it's their interest in a show down with GGG in Sept. 2017. Chavez is a stay busy money grab like Khan and the last one out there. There's no place to go from here than to face GGG.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Lol
This doesn't feel to be another Mayweather/Pacquiao debacle. You will see tomorrow night, Canelo will make it clear he wants GGG and only GGG. Canelo knows the risk of facing the other big guys at Middleweight, for less money.
I know you're a ass, you know the sport too and I understand your doubts. But you will see I'm not just blowing smoke out of my ass, this fight happens this Sept..

They also said Sept 2016. Canelo will make it clear in the ring Saturday? That doesn't ring a bell? I don't disagree it may happen, it's not exactly a breaking story. I just don't particularly give a shit.NateJR wrote:If there has been anything consistent coming from Canelos side, it's their interest in a show down with GGG in Sept. 2017. Canelo won't be able to go back to super welter after the Chavez fight; he's stuck at middle.NateJR wrote: Canelo knows the risk of facing the other big guys at Middleweight, for less money.
And i suspect he's going to look at lot less stellar vs Chavez, who's a big guy with a long reach, even though he gives it up.
Whether he chooses to take the millions with the beating that goes with it is anybody's guess.
Bullies don't like people standing up to them; Gennady won't be just standing up to him; he will destroy him.
Re: Canelo/GGG in Sept. 2017
This is a "I told you so" post. Canelo was never worried about GGG, he was busy playing chess by making big money fights before stepping in with GGG. It was obvious, but there were so many people pulling the coward card on Canelo due to hate, they don't have a fornicating clue.
I already see all the built in excuses for GGG when he loses. Oh the ref won't be fair, the judges will be bought, Canelo waited for GGG to get old, GGG has lost a step so if Canelo wins it's tainted. Lol. This shit is too laughable.

It was funny you thought you were initially going out on a limb. It's even funnier you found it worthy of an 'i told you so' post. What's next Nostradamus? A wlad/Joshua rematch? Is that in your crystal ball? Lol
Re: Canelo/GGG in Sept. 2017
Canelo is a coward and would never face GGG, was the popular opinion as soon as the Chavez Jr. Bout was announced. I never claimed to know all, but I went against the popular opinion and was right, not because I'm some genius, its that most people on here are dumb. You claimed you didn't doubt it would happen, so that would put you in the minority.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:It was funny you thought you were initially going out on a limb. But honestly I'm bored more than anything. Amuse me, tell me I'm right, because I know that's what you're thinking.

Re: Canelo/GGG in Sept. 2017
I admit I am one that accused Canelo of avoiding GGG. I think he has also avoided a rematch with Lara, Trout, fights with the Charlo Brothers, and Andrade. Their styles make him look bad. I think it was more GB than Canelo though. It was like pulling teeth to get Canelo to fight Lara and Trout, and we all saw why.
I also admit that when Canelo and GGG fight, I have said for a while now that Canelo wins a decision. I doubt if GGG at this stage in his career could KO Canelo, which is what it would take in order for Canelo to lose a decision. Floyd shut Canelo out and lost quite a few rounds on all cards.

Golovkin doesn't have to KO Canelo to beat him... But if the judges are against you, you have to beat him to the degree Mayweather did Castillo in their rematch... Forrest did Mosley in their 1st fight... Kovalev did Hopkins... Mayweather did De La Hoya... Mike McCallum did Harol Graham... Whitaker beat Chavez... Tunney beat Dempsey... Tarver beat Roy Jones... and Rigondeaux beat Donaire
