LOL at Brook:'I was in there with the big, most-feared middleweight there is but I showed I could stand with him'

Post by apollo creed »

"It was a big occasion that brought extra pressure and I was in there with the big, most-feared middleweight there is but I showed I could stand with him," Brook exclusively told Sky Sports.

"Spence is very talented but he has never been in there with anyone like me before. I do think I am going to be too good for him. I am in my prime. I am big, I am strong, fast, I've got a great boxing brain and he will see how mentally strong I am as well."

Brook must forget that he's cutting down muscle mass to make 147 lbs and that he got battered by GGG.

What is it you expect a champion boxer to be saying pre fight?

And he did stand with golovkin for few rounds before he got bust up in 5th

So if he inst stopped in the first 10 seconds he can brag about it? Everyone stands before getting KOed. Brook has nothing to take away from GGG fight.

Only the fact that he was considered ahead on points by many observers after 5 rounds??

Before any GGG fanboys break their keyboard hitting the reply button...I don't think Brook would have won the fight, eye injury or otherwise. But he certainly showed he has hand speed, variety and accuracy to hit a world class operator despite conceding natural size....and massive b*****s.
And Brook was not exactly out on his feet. Yes he was hurt, and likely to get stopped hand Ingle not stepped in. But claiming it was a one sided annihilation from which Brook gained nothing is stupid.

According to the doctors, brook was maybe one shot from going blind.. it was a gutsy performance, on what clearly looked like a GGG off night G was not sharp at all & neglecting defense even more than normal, and after a third of the scheduled twelve rounds Brook was beaten broken and had next to nothing left power was zilch. Golovkin was walking at him hands down, there was absolutely nothing to fear.. Kell needs that big ass head deflated, the arrogance and ego driven nonsense just makes him look silly.

Scheduled Deflation: May 27th
Deflation Specialist : Errol Spence Jr.
Expected Outcome: UK Sadness

You take whatever positives you can from that Kell. I've a feeling you're going to need every bit of 'edge' you can find.

It should be a cracker. Not long to wait now.

I think that Brook makes a good point about Spence never facing anyone like him. Not even close if you look at Spence's record, no one near the talent level that Brook has. I think that's why this fight is SO intriguing to passionate fans. But Brook does need to stop talking about GGG like he won the fight. GGG broke his head from punching it so hard and he couldn't make it halfway through the fight. Not a bragging type of accomplishment.

Brook was about as impressive as Khan was vs Canelo. Both looked good for a while. A lot of guys can look good for a while. The main difference is that Khan was KO'd, and Brook was bailed out by his corner before he could get KO'd.

Pretty laughable that he brags like GGG's scalp is on his resume, and his biggest claim to fame because he did good for a couple of rounds. Him and Khan deserve each other.

He weighed more than Golovkin on fight night IIRC. If this was same day weigh in, they'd be fighting in the same division. Brook is an enormous welterweight.

Brooks an enormous welterweight, but he's still a welterweight. Golovkin is a middleweight. Regardless of what weight brook chose to come in fight night, he has gone up in weight to fight golovkin.

Brook looked pretty big in that fight. He's a 154 - small 160ber who is draining down to 147 lbs.

Ggg is a small middleweight. They're the same size.

Brook didn't really move up in weight. He just stopped draining so much. It's like saying Canelo moved up 2 divisions to fight Chavez Jr. because they fought at 164.5 lbs. Canelo just stopped draining so much as he was coming into the ring close to 180 lbs. and stuff.

Brook as a genuine WW/LMW looked decent against THE top MW. IMO he did stand well with GGG for almost half the fight. His chin didn't let him down but GGG's power was too much. I don't think there was any disgrace in the performance and if I was Brook I would certainly be thinking that Spence won't be hitting him like GGG was. He didn't get dropped and was competitive - if you guys are saying that he is being delusional to suggest that he can take some credit from the fight I think you're just hating on Brook to be honest.

Brooks a welterweight whose had a fight at middle. Until he can no longer do welter, he's a welter.

Your arguement is crazy. Is canelo a light heavy as he's not draining as much? No he's clearly smaller than the light heavies out there

Seems crazier logic to me to consider a weight that a guy will be at less than 1 day a year to be his natural weight.

Golovkin cannot do welter. He's too big.

Canelo is not a light heavyweight that burns a load of weight to do 154

Kell brook cut more weight to fight at 160 than golovkin did. Canelo is a light heavy in the ring. He'll cut more weight than ggg too.

GGG is naturally a bigger man than Brook, he did look bigger in the ring whatever their walk around weights.

Ricky Hatton should have been fighting at Cruiserweight by this logic, at 5'6".

You don't see a difference between hatton being fat and brook looking ripped at 175?
