I really can't see the sense in this, Degale is light years away from anyone Jr has been in with. Its a boxing mismatch skillwise so can only think the Eubanks hope that Degale skives in the mid rounds and Jr can outwork him. I can't see Eubank landing nearly regularly enough to put a dent in Chunky

If this happens I can't wait for all the fans who think Eubank jr isn't world class he will show it here.

Probably play out not too differently from Eubank Jr's fight with Saunders, punching thin air for the 1st half until DeGale has a breather allowing Eubank to launch two fisted attacks whilst DeGale backs off, clawing back the scores and finishing the fight in control but DeGale edging it

Where have you heard this has been made?

Big surprise, I would never have thought this fight would happen for numerous reasons.

Think this is a gonna b a good fight going to be very close .. I think it will go to the wire .. degale lucky to get a draw last fight and don't think he has the energy 2nd half.of fights. I think this will bring the best out in EU jnr who might judge edge it .. winner to take on billy Joe Saunders.. groves not as.good as degale imo at.present so makes sense the winner fighting bjs..

Degale and Saunders paths don't cross at all, unless Saunders is planning to move up. Which I'm not aware he is

His fight with Jack was brutal, I don't think DeGale will ever be the same again. That said, he's a level above Eubank.

DeGale still promoted by Eddie ? If so I don't see how this fight can be made after the farcical GGG Eubank negotiations.

Jr has been banging on about how he is world class, well now we get a chance to find out if he is right or not.

It makes perfect sense, great fight if it happens

Forgot.about bjs down at middleweight my oversight !. if EU jnr wins and he has the more.prestigious belt.surely.he will then be in a better position than.bjs ? Anyway good luck to both degale and EU jnr if this fight happens good to see decent UK fighters fighting each.other.

You would think that by now , the Eubanks are not in such a good position and would have to take what they can get ,after upsetting every big promoter around , its obvious there not gonna fight for peanuts , so they will have to put there balls on the line

I'm sure he'd love an extra flab roll, but Degale will be at 75 before Saunders is at 68.

Any source for this?
I'm a little surprised. It is time for Jr to try out the top tier, and for sure it will sell seats. I just never caught wind of anything being even hinted about this match

Nothing on Twitter suggests there is truth to this.

Like his father Eubank Jr has consistently avoided the best.

And his recent attitude suggests he will continue to do so.

I want to be proven wrong but I'm doubtful

Degale had an operation after the jack fight that he'd been delaying to assist his breathing. I'm led to believe that the difficulty getting oxygen into his body has caused his 12 round work ethic to drop. In his earlier days degale could punch all night long, but since the dirrell fight it hasn't looked the case. If the operation is effective I'd expect his level to drop

And personally I think groves is as good as degale. Groves beats eubank easier than degale would imo

I'm not sure of the exact deal but he has joint deal, one with Hearn and another with an American who I'll assume is al haymon

As for the fight if it happened it is an interesting fight. They share similar traits but fight in very different styles

Both are quick, have good chins. I'd give power to degale but eubank punches in bunches and has enough on them to hurt. Eubank fights at a higher pace based on recent fights but in an earlier post I allude to degale previous doing that and reasons why he can do it again.

It's mainly experience and awkwardness that I favour degale. But eubank is a handful. He can be outboxed though

I definitely read that Degale was promoted by Hearn in domestic fights. Remains to be seen of the exactities at present but there seemed quite a few 'Degale has nothing to do with Eddie these days' comments before the Jack fight only for Hearn to walk him into the ring.

Re this fight, it makes sense to me. Could go either way, two big names, a proper step up for Eubank and a good fight for James if he's coming back to the UK. Not checked but has he fought here since Froch Groves II?

Well if it's on it'll have the publicity but let's hope the fight itself delivers.

Not sure but without looking it up I'd say not. Can't think of any fights at home since.

You've got to credit degale, I'm not even a massive fan but being on the road all the time is not the easiest way

You can say a lot about Eubank, and I do as much as anyone, about what he's done with his career post-Saunders, but he's an exciting fighter in general and Degale has an undeserved reputation for me; the Jack, Dirrell and Groves fights were good. I think it would be a great clash of styles.
