His Uncle probably won't be allowed at ringside anymore though.
Feigning injury to gain an advantage is a cancer in sport. I watch a lot of football (soccer) and it happens nearly every game, flr a multitude of reasons including wasting time when in the lead or winning penalties.
As a boxing fan i always worry it might creep into the sport more often. Dirrells now won 2 fights by conning the ref into believing he couldn't get up. Hopkins tried it vs Chad and even got the decision overturned when the ref didn't believe him that the shoulder (he was using to lean up on) was dislocated.
This stuff needs to be dealt with harshly. Imo the acting by Dirrell was worse than the sucker punch by the uncle. The uncle didn't know Andre was acting. He thought his nephew was badly hurt on the canvas by a deliberate shot after the bell and lost his temper. The events were set off by Dirrells blatant cheating.

The video evidence clearly shows him with his wits about him up on his knees before flopping on his back pretending to be out of it. Only an idiot would think that would be his reaction if the round was still live. He would make the count easy.

He fell on his face. There was nothing easy in making that count. I agree that he stopped making efforts to get up after the ref told him that he doesn't have to, but you can't really prove that.

The proof is what you just said. There's clear evidence he was alert and ready to get to his feet. What happened next is a blatant act. Dirrell is in his knee for a considerable amount of time communicating with both the ref and his corner. Perhaps a gust of wind when the doctored entered in the ring then knocked him out.

He wasn't alert. He was confused on his knees. He would likely have been counted out within the 3 minutes.
I do honestly hope that the Dirrells are pounded the fvck out of boxing soon.

The punch wasn't even THAT late and I think that everyone agrees that Dirrell was faking. He's a punk bitch and always has been. He's one of the most talented boxer in the world but has the mental makeup of an infant.
That is like saying if your uncle goes out and commits a crime you will go to jail too. omfg For christs sake Margacheato and Tyson were not banned for that long, and they were directly involved. Dirrell's uncle let his emotions get the best of him, much like yours and others here are.
He's a member of Dirrell's Corner and Team. The NE Patriots had a cameraman take video of the opposing team warmups and had a ballboy supposedly deflate footballs and they lost draft picks, millions of dollars and had their best player suspended for 4 games last year. This is how you stop ridiculous behavior like we saw last weekend. Fighter Managers need to be held responsible for what happens in there as well. Your example about my Uncle doesn't make any sense so you can try again if you'd like. You'e better than that...if i remember you correctly.

Its not that I wouldn't like to see it happen, it is just unrealistic imo based on previous infractions like with Margarito and Tyson. I'm sure there have been similar incidents with brawls in the ring too, although can't think of any specifically.
The ref is very average and has been for some time. He seems to get himself in several odd fights.
The punch that landed on Dirrell wasnt that late an the first punch was actually borderline with the bell but he followed through with the combination.
Direll seemed fine until Bill made it clear the punch was late. Not sure he deserves a ban, but his uncle on the other hand should never step foot in a bowing ring or gym again.
Dirrell seems like he could have continued after the late punch then all of a sudden he's in gar gar land it looked like someone said stay down and win the fight on ya back his uncle should be made fight the bloke he king hit in front of every one so he gets his fare wack what a fornicating germ

You're right. I'm sure that they will not penalize Dirrell. That incident was so ugly though i wish that they would make a statement with this one. Some of these boxer's hangeron's are nothing but criminals and thugs. The Dirrell's are all thugs and there's always something stupid that happens when either one enters the ring. Tired of their acts. You don't want a family of boneheads like this to be the face of your sport and on the news during such a great year for boxing. I've always been a fan of Andre's ability too. It's a shame he has that last name.
