Re: Shannon Briggs Pisses Dirty
Im sure I read once that you can supplement test upto a certain level. Is this true? Some people are naturally high, some ain't.

I thinlk Chris Jericho did an interview on this type of thing. He had naturally elevated testorone and basically had to prove it to be cleared of a disgression against the WWE's wellness policySAPFO wrote:Im sure I read once that you can supplement test upto a certain level. The allowable level is already 4 times normal to begin with.Boxing Prospect wrote:I thinlk Chris Jericho did an interview on this type of thing. What's Briggs gonna get? A 6 month ban. He'll probably be mandatory for the winner of Oquendo v whoever knowing how these things run.

Whilst this is hardly a surprise, it is a particularly bad time for Heavyweight cancellations.
Tyson Fury (numerous cancellations in last 12 months)
Hughie vs Parker
Chisora vs Heulenius
Whyte vs Wach
Lucas Browne (numerous cancellations)
Sexton vs Cornish (okay, not a masterpiece but a nice little fight).
Going through a real rough patch - cannot trust what is on or not.

Re: Shannon Briggs Pisses Dirty
Depends on age. Once a guy passes about 38 years old or so it gets to a point that maintaining muscle mass is hard enough let alone packing on muscle. You look at Audley Harrison and Matt Skelton weighing in 10lbs lighter late in their career than during their 'primes' this wasn't necassarily down to them training harder, but may have been down to them losing muscle mass through lower testosterone levels. Hence someone like Wlad maintaining a 240-250lb frame into his 40s and yet not really looking any fatter (obviously some guys put weight on late in their careers through getting fatter) has me raising my eyebrow. Let alone Briggs whos well into his 40s and looks more muscular than when he fought Lennox Lewis ffs.SAPFO wrote:Whats normal?SaadOffTheDeck wrote:The allowable level is already 4 times normal to begin with.Boxing Prospect wrote:

Apparently anything between 280-1100 nanograms per decileter of blood is considered normal. I'v never read into actual numbers but have read that if you take steroids your testosterone levels multiply by like 5 to 10 times these normal levels, meaning someone who tests positive and then tries to claim that they have naturally high testosterone are just talking sh1t.
It's rife in the sport of boxing quite clearly unfortunately. Like with cycling I just now assume that literally everybody is at it and I'm never surprised when someone tests positive.
Re: Shannon Briggs Pisses Dirty
respectfully James I think all that is nonsense to anyone who actually trains themselves and is in their 40s or who knows guys in the gym that age....the "you lose muscle mass every year after 30 and you only need 45g of protein a day" arguments are outdated claptrack.
I speak as a dedicated 40 year old lifting weights and still boxing a little and I can say that muscle memory is a great thing and so is nutrition and a clean diet. Briggs is a big guy always has been and he has lifted weights for probably 30 years......and clearly he knows how to diet.....Wlads physique is also entirely possible given who and what he is........... people who have been there and done it will always find it easier 40 onwards to stay in great shape....I know lost of aged bodybuilders even in their early 60s still in superb shape

As I wrote before to someone else:
This guy already has nearly 5 times the other guy his amount in the start, and it doesn't surprise me Briggs scores higher, I'm still curious about his number and also about his previous numbers in the past, to me, comparing should make sense.asdfjkl wrote:You can see that from a mile away lol, it's like wondering if Anthony Joshua is taller as Mayweather, yes he is and no I've never measured it, but it's easely visable from a mile away.Enlightened-One wrote:And how do you know this? It continues from 26:22 and 33:20

Re: Shannon Briggs Pisses Dirty
No, never heard of, but I'm usually not very impressed about the boxers you think are good, you usually don't seem to have a clue what you're talking about when it comes to boxing.
I can understand you're impressed about just about every Dutch guy out there, especially after you watched yourself in the mirror, but it's oke, we are used to it.
Either way, I found a number of a ratio according to Dan Rafael, the same guy who also knew first of everyone that Povetkin had some kind of illegal American substance in his sample, appearantly Dan Rafael got good connections with Wada/Vada, it's not surprising that Wilder has never been cought and neither has Stiverne, except for live in the act.
Dan Rafael wrote in his article "his testosterone to epitestosterone ratio was 7.89 to 1.", now I know that Floyd Landis had a ratio of 11 to 1, and I have to be honest, I do think Floyd Landis is a drugcheat, like many American sporters, especially the ones driving in the Tour de France.
Either way, wada/vada has a 4:1 imposed limit (recently lowered from prior limits of 8:1 and 6:1) and according to Dan Rafael his text Briggs had a level of 7.89 to 1, which is higher as 4:1.
*edit:
"According to WADA if the ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone is greater than 4:1 it's considered evidence of possible doping and leads to further tests ... the key word is "further testing" This means it's not finalized. . . a Carbon-Isotope Ratio test or CIR test is usually performed at this point. This is how Tour de France Champion Floyd Landis was caught.
WADA's Code advices two different practices to determine if the increased T:E ratio is due to a physiological or pathological condition or to administration of exogenous hormones ... However, there are documented cases of non-doping athletes with T:E ratios greater than 6:1 ... In that case additional testing is required to determine the etiology of the elevated ratio"
"if an athlete's urine test produces a ratio that is above 4:1 ... at least three additional samples must be tested ... These may be samples that were previously collected and analyzed or unannounced future tests ... If the results are less than 30 percent for males and less than 60 percent for females ... then it's likely that the T:E ratio is naturally increased ... thus declaring the athlete's test as "Negative".
WADA doesn't consider genetic factors ... However, in several cases natural testosterone is high (greater than 4:1 ratio)... as documented and recorded in the following races:
Hispanics 5.8:1
Caucasian 5.7:1
Africans 5.6:1"

I like Thicke De Dong, Mitchell Van Hire, Charlie Snojrter and Hertz Van Rental. These guys are the future of Dutch boxing. Thicke De Dong has a brother Flacìd but he's too soft for the pro ring.asdfjkl wrote:No, never heard of, but I'm usually not very impressed about the boxers you think are good, you usually don't seem to have a clue what you're talking about when it comes to boxing.
