Alexander Povetkin vs Andriy Rudenko Finalized For July 1
Promoter World of Boxing has revealed to BS.com that a deal was finalized for Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin (30-1, 22 KOs) to face Andriy Rudenko (31-2, 19 KOs, #9 WBO, #13 IBF, #13 WBC) on July 1st in Moscow. The fight will be a battle of Russia vs. Ukraine.
Rudenko has won seven fights in a row since suffering a two fight losing streak where he dropped decisions to Lucas Browne and Hughie Fury. The last time he saw action was in December 2016, when he won a ten round unanimous decision to Jason Bergman in Ukraine.
Rudenko is very durable, has a decent punch and has never been stopped, but the majority of his career has been staged in Ukraine and he's lost in the two instances where he stepped up his level of competition.

Yup, he's done. I'm surprised they haven't reached out to tarver or briggs for an all out roid battle.crusader wrote:I guess this is the type of opponent we should be expecting for Pov now..

This is not one of Povetkin's best match-ups. I would prefer that Rudenko were fighting fighters of Fedosov / Washington caliber.

Easy one for Povetkin, they seem to be looking for guys with many fights that have never been KOed and then try to KO him.
IMO he didn't really succeed in the Wach case, only on paper. Despite Povetkin was clearly the best, but that's a different story.

..it's unfortunate Povetkin has to fight the boxers of this "caliber"...but I guess that's the best offer the money can buy..

Exactly, I'm disappointed in Anthony Joshua for avoiding him, I really hoped Joshua would fight him after Wilder turned him down time over time again and again.

Saint Povetkin was framed and should not only be the REAL WORLD CHAMPION but children should have to pledge allegiance to his pics.
All hail the true saviour Povetkin.
Damn ped cheat shouldn't be allowed in a ring.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs Andriy Rudenko Finalized For July 1
It's at least very odd and unlogic that Povetkin got caught.
He had an absolute minor trace of some American substance in his sample while he's from Russia according to the Americans, at the same time and independant lab in Suisse proved him innocent, the Americans made Povetkin the only men in the world who's guilty untill proven innocent and even when he proved it, they still steal his money, openly and in front of the entire world, but with much help of many media quite a lot of retards actually let them get away with it!
On top of the Americans said he was positive 4 weeks before the fight, which is a moment that would actually make him weaker during the actual fight, despite him beïng weaker and less good, he easely showed a much better performance as Deontay Wilder did against the same opponent.
Povetkin never had this substance in his body before, and neither ever after, during his previous fight something similar happened, Wilder managed to sneak out of the fight, while Povetkin turned out to be innocent and all scientific evidence that ever existed both before and after everything Povetkin said proved that he was 100% honest from start till end, as expected, since he never lied before.
On top of all that, of all the people out there, it was exactly Stiverne who was completely out of shape standing in front of him as his opponent in his second fight, it was even so obvious that Povetkin and his team already contracted a different opponent for the same day, because they knew the chances of Stiverne not showing up in the ring was high.
This was also because the Americans never adverted about the fight, which is really odd since it was the best WBC heavyweight match out there in the past 3 years with high ranked boxers involved and Povetkin was about to get his mandatory status back he never should have lost at all.
Long story short, the Americans are pussies, cheat and don't even seem to feel ashamed for it.

You're the pussy, you and Povetkin.
Re: Alexander Povetkin vs Andriy Rudenko Finalized For July 1
I'm not convinced that Alexander Poviktim is as pure as the driven snow but wouldn't you even concede the possibility that his controversial failed drug test might have been politically motivated?
Would you not agree that certain officials might have found the cancellation of the fight to be serendipitous not to say very desirable?
Do you consider the WBC to be a fine upstanding body of men who would never countenance corruption in any form?
Do you consider Vada/Wada to be equally incorruptible and certain to defy the WBC in the event of the almost incomprehensible and ridiculous notion that they would ever exert pressure in order to influence the test result?
Do you believe that the WBC are entirely indifferent as to who holds their heavyweight title, and would not want to have any influence over whoever holds it beyond nominating his mandatory challenger from time to time?
Do you believe the WBC would be just as happy if the Russians were able to exert more influence by virtue of the fact the champion resides and defends the belt in Moscow? Would they the WBC be able to operate as freely and succesfully in relation to fights in Russia as they have done for many many years in respect of fights in the dear old US of A? You don't think they would want to steer events away from this conclusion if they could?
I don't know if this was on the level or not, but it smells rather like fish to me. Deontay often complains that he was bitterly disappointed and would never have flown to Moscow if he was not expecting to fight. He didn't actually get there though did he?
I'm not usually much for conspiracy theories but this is hardly up there with holocaust denial is it?

No, 0% chance. As for the wbc, not having that fight cost them money. wilder was in London with a ticket to Moscow. This is one of the worst conspiracy theories ever concocted. Beyond stupid.

No, he wasn't he was just celebrating holiday with his friends and family, he never bought a ticket to Moscow and he wasn't seriously planning to go to Russia either, just acting like he does, that's all he needed to do.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:No, 0% chance. An actualy picture of him at the time with such a flyticket would indeed be a tiny bit more convincing as his bullshit story's of right now, but as far as I know, he and his team never bought tickets, because they never intended to go to Russia.
