Shawn Porter has many flaws
Have you notice if u ever watch a Shawn Porter fight, how awkward the fights become. It's like ever fight he has fought recently has become to a wrestling match are clinch fest as well as many head butts as well.He has looked very unskilled in some past fights, fighting all wild & bull rushing opponents on the inside, trying to smother there punches. He also hasn't been landing accurate & clean punches on the inside nor from distance. If he's Father is the cause of this, then he definitely needs a new trainer.
Re: Shawn Porter has many flaws
Sometimes performance is dictated by opponents. I haven't seen him fight like he did with Brook since, because Brook dictated the wrestling.
I do find his fights entertaining, and he at least takes on top guys when he can. He could languish in beating B grade opponents, but he dosent. Some respect must be given for that.
There's always room for improvement in any fighter.

Re: Shawn Porter has many flaws
Like I said before, I think he would give mayweather hell.
Re: Shawn Porter has many flaws
He's not unskilled. He's a god damned genius headbutting machine. You're seriously underestimating him. He knows 37 different headbutting techniques, which is a lot more varied than most boxers' entire punching arsenal.

Yeah he would give anyone hell because all the grabing, head butting, and trying to smother other fighters punches because thats the only way he can win rounds, cuz he can't fight from the distance. He would give Mayweather hell,Floyd would clearly outbox him.Syntax Error wrote:He'd give anyone hell.sykessta wrote:Like I said before, I think he would give mayweather hell.

Floyd couldn't stop Berto... Porter knocked Berto out and Andre resorted to every dirty trick in the book
Porter has the most one-side KO win over Malignaggi... He destroyed the man with jabs and brutal left hooks... He needed to use the jab more against both Berto and Broner... You can never abandon the jab. It's the best weapon in Boxing.. For me, Porter would beat Mayweather.. Too damned busy.. Too much pressure.. Too strong.. Too durable.. Too relentless.. Too much of everything for Floyd, Pacquiao, Khan, or Bradley.

I like Porter, flaws and all. His two losses were competitive with two of the three top welters on the planet. He gave them both hell. Porter gives anyone and everyone hell. I respect that.

So your telling me that Porter could beat Floyd,Floyd is much faster than Porter & has very quick hands & feet and could avoid any of Porter's strategy's & his gameplan.Floyd would defeat Porter easily and so as Pacquiao,Khan, as well.Porter couldn't even defeat Thurman & was drop by Broner and He barely defeated Devon Alexander. All those guys u mention would all defeat Porter,Porter has nothing but a brawler boxing style and he also doesn't have a real trainer .Kalan wrote:Floyd couldn't stop Berto... Porter beat Alexander easy. Mauled him
I do think he could tidy up his work a bit though as he has a tendency to smother his own good work sometimes

Means nothing considering many people were beaten by slower hands and feet. Leonard Duran 1 is an example of how this can be achieved.
Khan beating Porter? I won't even respond to that.
Re: Shawn Porter has many flaws
Both of you are insane. Porter would beat Khan and lose to Mayweather / Pacquiao. You two should strive for something other than idiotic extremes. The only reasonable space for debate is Porter vs Bradley, but I think Bradley has to be the favorite.psychod1986 wrote:So your telling me that Porter could beat Floyd,Floyd is much faster than Porter & has very quick hands & feet and could avoid any of Porter's strategy's & his gameplan.Floyd would defeat Porter easily and so as Pacquiao,Khan, as well.Porter couldn't even defeat Thurman & was drop by Broner and He barely defeated Devon Alexander. All those guys u mention would all defeat Porter,Porter has nothing but a brawler boxing style and he also doesn't have a real trainer .Kalan wrote:Floyd couldn't stop Berto... So your saying Porter would beat Mayweather and Pacquiao and lose to Bradley.Timothy Bradley couldn't even beat Pacquiao nor Mayweather in his prime. So what make u think Porter could have defeated Mayweather, when Mayweather defeated greats like Pacquiao,Canelo,Cotto,Marquez, and defeated Chino twice,no i would say your insane.Lackeos wrote:Both of you are insane. They love to hate on Floyd because his black, famous, rich, and retired undefeated. So they love to criticize him,& judge him, even why he's retired as one of the greats.Haters always want to throw salt on his name because they just want to him lose, even when he couldn't. ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

Yeah he would give anyone hell by running everyone in the damn ropes & headbutting them.Clinching why still throwing punches, you've seen it didn't work for Kell Brook. What make ya think it would work for Pacquiao and Mayweather.

No way in hell Porter would beat Mayweather especially if his fresh,Porter doesn't have enough tools to defeat Mayweather.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:He's struggling.Tanzio wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:He said porter would lose to Floyd and Manny. Are you accusing him of not being literate? You a bigocist?

Re: Shawn Porter has many flaws
It's a no brainer. Porter is a brawler. Of course Porter is going to have some flaws. Outside of the flaws Porter is a action fighter.
Re: Shawn Porter has many flaws
Finally saw Porter v Berto. Loved it! Porter just ground him down but Berto gave it a go. I just don't see how people can have a problem with Porter. He is all action. He takes shots to give his own. He is perfectly conditioned. He has good skills and great heart.
I loved it when Berto consciously headbutted Porter and immediately complained because he got the worst of it. That was another blood and guts beatdown by Porter that I enjoyed every minute of.
Porter's wrestling background does come into play positively for him in multiple ways: conditioning and leverage in the clinch being the most obvious.
