WHO WINS:Craig Kennedy v Matty Askin
Who wins this one then? Been a long time coming....
Re: WHO WINS:Craig Kennedy v Matty Askin
One of the best british title fights that can be made, if Craig sticks to his boxing it's his to lose.

Re: WHO WINS:Craig Kennedy v Matty Askin
I'm not sure on this one. I think Kennedy is great going forwards, but terrible defensively. Goes back in straight lines with his chin up. I think he relies on the other gut not having reach to get to him.
Askin often spoils, but has been in with some good boys.
I think it's one of those fights we'll know after a round.
If Askin starts holing and mauling then Kennedy will do him. If Askin tries to box and bang then I think he'll stop Kennedy.

Askin is a solid all round fighter, whereas Kennedy is a good front foot fighter but struggles under pressure. Cant see how Askin can lose this.
Re: WHO WINS:Craig Kennedy v Matty Askin
Think Askins experience will see him win on points after a good battle. Looking forward to this. I've seen a few comments suggesting it's going to be dog shít but I actually think it will be a fun fight. Fingers crossed anyway.
Always good to have some domestic boxing on a Friday night. Like a wee appetiser for tomorrow

I originally thought Askin would win on points but now have a feeling he'll stop Kennedy along the way

Can see Askin being too strong on the inside and Winning by clear points or maybe a late stoppage.
Kennedy isn't hard to hit. Fun fighter though.

That wouldn't surprise me either mate. Is this the main or is it Selby? The undercard is on Spike til 9pm then they break for an hour. Main event on 5 at 10pm. Think i'll record the boxing hour and watch that in between.handsofstone wrote:I originally thought Askin would win on points but now have a feeling he'll stop Kennedy along the way
She's gonna go menstrual this weekend man! Boxing two nights in a row, cup finals etc....

anybody put any money on Askin?
Re: WHO WINS:Craig Kennedy v Matty Askin
First time I have seen Kennedy - was that a typical performance?
He didn't look like a 16-0 boxer to me.

Can't be surprised with the result given Kennedy's previous fight...

Not usually as poor as that.
He's always hung his chin out and not been the best at defensivlely moving, bit he usually comes forward a lot better and has been able to hurt opponents.
He pretty much dodged a bullet against Fry, where a knockdown or two gave him the win.
Thought he struggled against that tall belgian too.
The corner was a bit chaotic tonight too. Too many voices and not enough coaching.

Ye had a points double with him and Selby.wesshaw1985 wrote:anybody put any money on Askin?
I knew his chin was fragile but never seen him that tentative and gun shy before.

He's not usually that poor, but he's always looked a bit chinny and wide open defensively. The knockdown in the first round set the tone last night, Kennedy never really recovered from it.bripez wrote:First time I have seen Kennedy - was that a typical performance?

Askin looked impressive last night. He has not had it easy in his career FairPlay to him.

he's been passed from pillar to post in the past matty with coaches.
Hes settled now and that's showing in his performances.
3 unbeaten prospects beaten,(knocking all 3 down and stopping 2 of them early) just goes to show.
the best is yet to come. and the new!
