If he does win it won't be comfortably. I'd take Crawford over Spence right now.gilgamesh wrote:It might be as good as this one, but I'd favor Spence to win pretty comfortably in that one as well. Re: Brook vs. Spence RBR
Really wasn't too impressed with Spencer's boxing ability for the first half. Did he think he could just steam roll through Brook like Golovkin. Not like him at all of the fights I've seen him in the past. Once he started boxing, getting behind a jab and using distance he landed nice punches. Obviously the massive pressure he applied early on took a lot out of Brook (but also Spence). I thought he could have handled it better with less punishment and more boxing but then again maybe we have been spoilt with the Mayweather era and maybe without that gruelling first half he wouldn't have stopped Brook, who knows. Also I have to give credit to the class of Brook, who can fight and is awkward to deal with. On top of that, lot of pressure for Spence to gain the title and its boxing so pressure to knock the hometown fighter out and not leave it to the judges.
Plus Brook smashes Khan. Now and before.

Re: Brook vs. Spence RBR
I wouldn't rank him in the Top 10 on a P4P list just yet. I have him #2 at Welterweight behind Keith Thurman still who also isn't on my P4P list. Both are right on the verge of P4P consideration though and I think Spence has more talent and will go further.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Man down! Two great fighters. Spence is #2 p4p for me.
I look forward to seeing more of both fighters, and there's nobody at Welterweight right now I wouldn't favor Spence to beat. Spence vs Crawford in a year or two could be very interesting.

But Khan shouldn't be talking because he's running from Brook.
All three of them suffered KO losses, but they all came back more successful. So they have earned the right to express their criticism.
However, Kell Brook seemed to have demons at the back of his mind raising concerns about eye injuries. Maybe his issues are legit, but if not, then it'll hinder him for the remainder of his career.

I'd take Crawford over Spence as well, but I'd take Crawford to beat Thurman pretty clear also. I think Crawford and Spence are more elite operators than Thurman.Baby Face Finster wrote:If he does win it won't be comfortably. I think Thurman edges Spence in the footwork department. Spence would have to catch Thurman and slow him down. I do agree Thurman will be on the bicycle trying to outbox Spence. Don't think Thurman can out fight Spence.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I don't think it would be as good as this one, Thurman will be on his bike all night.MachoTime wrote:Spence vs. Thurman would be a great fight.

I'm sure he will. Both laughing at your prior posts about how worthless P4P is, but that doesn't stop you from using it and skillwise, he isn't anywhere close to the Lomas/Crawfords, even GGGs of the world.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Keep laughing, he'll keep kicking ass.Blodhemn wrote:Lol..SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Man down! I never said I didn't have a p4p list. It's pointless for people to take it so seriously. This is a perfect example. I thought Spence was the second best fighter in the world last week, but "he hasn't fought anybody". That's all I mean, watch the fights, rate them how you see them. None of it matters.Blodhemn wrote:I'm sure he will. Yeah, I don't see Spence coming close to those guys. Good fighter slanted more towards will than skill.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I never said I didn't have a p4p list. Re: Brook vs. Spence RBR
Spence beats Thurman. Unless you're blind.
Re: Brook vs. Spence RBR
Spence won almost every round of the fight.
Brook got the 7th that was it.
Very entertaining and interesting fight.
Spence's jab and bodywork were the business.
Brook took a body shot in the 5th that popped and in the very next round he took some serious incoming downstairs that really swung the fight.
Spence kept it together and looked very comfortable in there, Brook showed signs of wear and tear he should take a long rest.
Overall it was a good fight.

Spence actually lost several rounds and was down going into the 8th...I thought that was about right.Evander wrote:Spence won almost every round of the fight.

Get this ... Carl Froch had Brook winning 5 of the first 6 rounds, he has to be joking or got caught up in the heat of the moment it's ludicrous.
Re: Brook vs. Spence RBR
Spence officially lost several rounds, and like many people I didnt have him up until late in the fight.
Your card seems pretty bad to me; 6-0 over the first half?

Best case scenario for Brook.
He remained competitive, he ate jabs and surgical body shots from round 1 to 11.
The end was in round 5, the set up was in round 6 and from that point it was just a matter of time.

Re: Brook vs. Spence RBR
I guess quite a few of us underestimated Spence. He was strong and able to recover quickly. For a while Brook had the edge in hand speed and accuracy. But then his work rate dropped dramatically.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Good fight.
Spence is very very very strong.
Spence hardly got tired. His strength at WW was amazing.
Credit to all those who said losing the weight would take it's toll. It did.
In a furious (razor sharp reflexes) fight like that it looks like it has to. Maybe Brook would have got away with it against a lesser fighter, but he's no longer on that class.
Chalk up one more for the bookmakers.

I'll review it again but Spence looked like he won a wide decision.
Re: Brook vs. Spence RBR
See how many times Spence landed that jab, sometimes bang on the button clear scoring shot.
