Perhaps but impossible to tell to what extent. It's hardly as if Malignaggi busted his eyesockets, so i don't think you can conclude a relatively light puncher such as Khan is going to bust them up.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:So the initial injuries don't raise the probability of it happening again?Ricky_ wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote: Khan's early offense could smash one of those eyes.
I doubt it. Golovkin's probably the hardest punching fighter p4p, in boxing. Spence seems to have outstanding power at WW, bigger hitter than Thurman & Pacquiao i'd suggest from common opponents. I don't think Khan is packing much power at all.
Poor Brook , I kind feel sorry for him, he showed he has a big heart but evil people screwed him

Yup, Spence has better strength and power than current Pacquiao,Thurman and Garcia.Ricky_ wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Khan's early offense could smash one of those eyes.TheDarkDestroyer wrote:
He'll beat Khan. I'd be supporting Khan and would love to see him stop Brook but Khan isn't good enough and Brook will likely stop him. It's always been this way really.

Yup, both GGG and Spence fights took a lot from Brook.Ossyrules wrote:I know, but it's still 2 really injuries for him to deal with. GGG done a better job on the right eye.Ossyrules wrote:Khan vs brook was a fight I'd love to see but I've actually changed my mind and think fack Amir Khan. He's had a shite load of time to have this fight but facked brook so many times.
Go to 154 and forget about Amir Khan, he's done
Brook maybe should call it a day if his eyes are bad

Brook's left eye socket is broken. Surgery next. He must take a long layoff till he gets completely healed.
Re: Poor Brook , I kind feel sorry for him, he showed he has a big heart but evil people screwed him
It was Brook who made the decision to fight Triple-G... It wasn't anybody out there screwing him... He made good money for that one... He made good money for Spence... Eye injuries are tough and derailed Sugar Ray Leonard's career for 5 years. They're by far the toughest injuries in Boxing. The eye injury didn't necessarily happen because Kell moved to Middleweight.. Injuries are unpredictable. You'd avoid a fight if you knew one was coming.apollo creed wrote:He probably made some good money from the GGG fight but he should've moved up to 154 after his last defense against Bizier. IMO his career got foocked up and his health too for competing at a top level.

The man [Brook] is a WARRIOR I don't give a eff what anyone else thinks on this one
Re: Poor Brook , I kind feel sorry for him, he showed he has a big heart but evil people screwed him
Surely Khan will need a tune up fight first?
He has been out for so long he has to be rusty?
The fight could be on, Khan was ringside for a reason, Eddie seems to do stuff like that

That happens when u fight the best.apollo creed wrote:He probably made some good money from the GGG fight but he should've moved up to 154 after his last defense against Bizier. IMO his career got foocked up and his health too for competing at a top level.
1 he made good money
2 no shame in losing against the #1 middleweight
and #1-2 welterweight in the world. Had floyd had the balls and fought prime tszyu or prime pacquiao, who knows how many losses he would have had.
3 his career aint over, also his health is okay. Its not like he took 50 wars. He had 2 tough fights against elite opponents and is multi millionere and could make additional millions against khan, thurman, crawford. Where is the problem?

His eye has went in 2 fights in a row.Jip wrote:3 his career aint over, also his health is okay. Its not like he took 50 wars. He had 2 tough fights against elite opponents and is multi millionere and could make additional millions against khan, thurman, crawford. Where is the problem?

It is not too early to seriously consider it. In fact, it would be foolish not to. Serious consideration of the health risks weighed against the potential upside and also taking into account his psyche / commitment going forward is essential.Ricky_ wrote:Tanzio wrote:True. Especially if the fight takes place at 147. I really think that Brook was weakened by the weight drain back to welter, although that is not to say it had an effect on his eye sockets, other than making him easier to find as the fight wore on.SaadOffTheDeck wrote: Khan's early offense could smash one of those eyes.
Brook should seriously consider calling it a career.
Too early for that kind of talk. I remember how Linares was written off by everyone, after 2 cuts defeats on the bounce. Not lost a fight since and is a world champion.
Re: Poor Brook , I kind feel sorry for him, he showed he has a big heart but evil people screwed him
Brook has the build of Diego Corrales. He is the same height as Alvarez, but Alvarez just has way more meat on him. There's nothing stopping Brook from adding 7 pounds of muscle and having a lot more power at light middleweight.Ruthless-RKO wrote:The thing is, he relies on his power at 147.. At 154, he will be just another guy.

Couldn't agree more. Did you see Liam Smith's last fight? Kell Brook would take him apart.apollo creed wrote:Yeah but when you make weight very hard and stamina isn't there in the later rounds then is useless to stay at 147. Brook is killing himself to make 147. I'd say a pre-GGG 154 lbs Kell Brook would batter guys like Jarett Hurd and Liam Smith.Ruthless-RKO wrote:The thing is, he relies on his power at 147.. Truly a fearless warrior who will fight any terror. Too courageous for his own skill level. A great fighter who can battle the greats but he just fell short to two prime ATGs. Boxing needs more warriors like KELL BROOK

One big mistake that Brook made was that after he beat Porter he didn't chase guys like Thurman, Garcia, Bradley, Cotto or Khan. He went back to UK and defended his belt against some no-names, acting like a primadona then GGG showed that reality is cold as fook. Big mistake.montrealsuper wrote:Truly a fearless warrior who will fight any terror. Too courageous for his own skill level. Re: Poor Brook , I kind feel sorry for him, he showed he has a big heart but evil people screwed him
maybe he knew he could not get those fights especially with the protected haymon fighters. Brook has shown he is willing and wants to fight the best. After fighting Golovkin and Spence back to back it's safe to presume Brook would fight Joshua or Klitschko or Godzilla if that's what the fans wanted. You have to admire Brook's courage and self confidence though the latter has now been probably irreparably damaged.apollo creed wrote:One big mistake that Brook made was that after he beat Porter he didn't chase guys like Thurman, Garcia, Bradley, Cotto or Khan. Umm, Hurd is a Champion currently.Ruthless-RKO wrote:Yeh, no doubt he would beat Smith and Hurd today.. As for the current 154 champions?
