Ingle Is To Blame.
Brook had swelling for several rounds before the fight ended, yet Ingle didn't once put an end-swell on it. Ingle was in charge of the corner, but did nothing except wipe him with a wet towel. In my opinion Brook took more punches and incurred more damage because of it. Terrible.

I thought that myself. No attempt to iron that out.
Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
I noticed that and was shouting at the tv as rhodes smothered kells face and refused to give him water or the enswell.....this is,down to rhoses lazyness big time
Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
I lost lot of respect for Ingle during the last two fights. Making Brook jump up and down the weight and claiming this was OK is one thing. I believe Brook is now mentally and physically done because of this. Then he makes astonishingly stupid comments all the time. His dismissive attitude toward the opposing fighter is stupid. I dont think he is too smart, neither is he a good professional.

I don't know and maybe someone can help me
I wondered if the eye socket or another bone was actually broken, wouldn't applying the endswell- which they seem to apply with a little force when they use it- make it worse rather than better? So maybe not a criticism that it wasn't used?
Like I say I don't know, was just wondering, maybe coco or rhino or someone could confirm or deny

Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
He was telling brook that Spence was getting tired after 2 rounds. "there's nothing on those punches".
Meanwhile brook was winded in the corner.
Definitely looked like Kell didn't really trust what he was saying all night.
Not like he can leave the Ingles though is it.

I reckon he'd feel like a fish out of water at any other gym.

Honestly though brook is just a different fighter after the GGG mauling. Really really bad matchmaking. Putting him up against such a puncher like triple G was very poor indeed. His orbital bone was broken within the first 30 seconds of the fight.

Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
They did use the end swell/ eye iron, but about 2 rounds too late. To be fair, it would only have helped with the tissue swelling and not helped the broken socket. However, they did not know the socket was broken and should have used it sooner. The sight of it swelling up and untreated no doubt galvanised Spencer (lol) into targeting it.
Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
There could be some truth to that- whether thats why Ingle/corner didnt utilize the end-swell I dont know. .Counter-puncher wrote:I don't know and maybe someone can help me

It could be a correlation that works in their favour though.

Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
Yep, it also ended his unbeaten record which may have affected his confidence as a 30 year old unbeaten pro. Maybe the purse made it worthwhile but its a long road back now for Brook even at 154TheLeprechaun wrote:Honestly though brook is just a different fighter after the GGG mauling. Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
I also thought Ingle lost his cool as soon as Brook started to get put under pressure. All practical or technical advice stopped and he sounded like a man who knew they were losing trying to tell Kell to keep calm.
Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
So applying an endswell would repair a broken eye socket?keithmoonhangover wrote:Brook had swelling for several rounds before the fight ended, yet Ingle didn't once put an end-swell on it. Should he then have smeared vaseline on it?

Feel sorry for brook, talk about tough fights!
Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
No point looking for excuses , when your a fighter at that level , you need to be doing one of two things ,, fighting top opposition regular , or sparring the best regular, theres an old saying , a gyms only has good has its best boxer , ,, so if he is the best bring in bigger and better for sparring . its the way it works in the states , quite often survival of the fittest . Brook was simply pumbelled by a better fighter , he was hit harder than he's used to and the damage got done .
Regards the endswell , that really is a 50-50 one , pushing the bruising hard, would'nt of helped a broken orbital bone , in fact pressing and pushing it would meke it worse , so if they knew it was broken , or suspected it was broken , they done the right thing not putting pressure on it , in which case , why did'nt they just say , you could lose an eye were stopping it ,,
But if they did'nt know or suspect a break , pushing the swelling out could make the difference , either way does'nt matter he got beat by a better boxer on the night .
On a side note though one thing that does annoy me is brave trainers, who think they know everything , theres a doctor in there who is experienced , and done the doctors training , call him over get profesional advice , there not stupid they know you will not want it called off unless its essential ,,, Fook i remember seeing one trsainer years ago , tryibg to put a dislocated shoulder back inbetween rnds , the fookwit ruined the fighters carreer , he never fought again

Well he had his fair share of patsies in the past to make up for those two.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Feel sorry for brook, talk about tough fights!
That said, hopefully his eye is okay in the long term and heals up well
Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
Its cornerman basics you use the enswell and ice to control swelling...boxers get swelling around the eyes all the time...only with brook it seems to be Rhodes excuse "oh he had a broken socket so i coukdnt"....bs he did a lousy awful job in the corner...
Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
Yeah, surely the end-swell should have been used when the swelling first started coming out. Thats not to say it would have stopped it but it would seem the smart move.Bricks wrote:Its cornerman basics you use the enswell and ice to control swelling...boxers get swelling around the eyes all the time...only with brook it seems to be Rhodes excuse "oh he had a broken socket so i coukdnt"....bs he did a lousy awful job in the corner...

Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
I'm not buying ESJ being truly elite etc etc. Brook was gassed after 6 rounds and was comfortably ahead until then. Spence looked decent and certainly world level but if this fight would have happened pre-GGG I think Brook beats him.
For me, Brooks career will go down as one of the worst manager in British boxing history. He really is/was a talent but fought 30 odd absolute no-hopers before being sent to the slaughter against GGG which has ruined him at 147. He'll end up with only one really good win on his record and he's so much better than that. 154 is not a division deep in talent so moving there won't do much for his legacy either. Such a shame.

Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
get over yourself man. brook wanted the GGG fight, he jumped at it when it was offered. none of his team were trying to steer him into it were they?
and as for spence, brook was the champion and spence was the number one challenger so it's a fair fight, that's what boxing should be about. how can that be being poorly managed?
brook bailed out against spence, so he's probably done with boxing. that was just about the most embarrassing way to end a fight, voluntarily taking a knee and then fully concsious refusing to stand up in front of your own fans in a huge PPV fight.
he's always struck me as a wrong un, with that effeminate voice and the business with going back to some geezers flat on holiday and getting slashed while your wife and kids are at home.

Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
Kell got a lot of money from the last 2 fights. I've even argued with friends for saying he'd be stopped! We all slated him for his mandatories, can't criticise these last two. GGG was way too much, they knew that. Dom was ready with the towel all along. Spence was a gamble. At the end of the day, he's got an incredible house out of the fights. And a dodgy eye.

Re: Ingle Is To Blame.
Brook beats a top American.....then gets slagged for weak defences.....has 2 big fights in UK against p4p fighters in fights that he wanted let's not forget that but now people now saying matched too tough. He was advised to go to 154 but he wanted to fight Spence to prove his worth but yet some people are saying it's bad management..... you just can't win. Applying pressure to a broken bone is not the thing to do and saying Ingle was losing his cool I think there's a difference between losing your cool and trying to motivate a mentally beaten boxer. Brook is unlucky with the eye thing and if it didn't happen in this fight who knows but hopefully at 154 he can regroup.
